    Hey guy i just got my car repainted new usp bumper and S4 sideblades, RS4 pedals, APR Stage 1 Plus. Guess What Just got this check engine code P0010 camshaft position actuator A bank 1, circuit malfunction. Car is acting up weird. Please what in the hell is it. Is the cam sensor or what.

    i installed hood pins today and i got the same code. NOBODY knows how to fix it except on this engine http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3864951
    can anybody tell me where its located on our engine model?

    have you unclipped the timing cover right in front of your engine? My guess is probably there, it was in the DIY

    yeah i saw that in DIY, haven't tried it yet its too dark outside to look for it, just want to make sure its in the same place

    by the way, when i took to mechanic he said that it might be: unpluged, torn, melted, or malfunction. i smelt burnt wires when it came on so i hope i just melted the wire

    It's located on the back of the head. The actuator is also called the CCT or Cam Chain Tensioner. The solenoid is visible. The main body of the actuator is located underneath the valve cover.

    So would I only be taking the valve cover off or do I need to remove the head as well? Also is there a sure way to find out what motor I have? I know its the 1.8t but the head stamp is AEB. I have an 02 audi a4 quattro but I boight it used

    To replace the cam chain adjuster you need to remove the valve cover along with the intake cam. The AEB head came off of an earlier A4 B5.
