REvo Switching unit and a few Q's

Well I just recieved my switcher for the REVO programs.it runs right out of the OBD2 port which is easy enough and has a great ECU kill program for anti-theft. My questions are as follows:

    1) What are REVO's normal numbers for Boost/Timing/Fuel?
    2) What numbers are you running for the same? (B/T/F)
    3) Do you like the switcher unit and it's interface/ease of use?

So far I'm pretty happy with the product, I am just a bit mad that no software was included so I could do adjustments to the #'s myself. Right now I'm running the normal program #'s from REVO's 4.2 progream, but I have optimal ones written down from my tune. So I will have to go down to the shop to have them put those numbers in for me.
    Any input is cool, thanks!

Re: REvo Switching unit and a few Q's

    Hey dude!

First off the reason you don't have any software with your Revo tool is because you did not get the Revo Select Plus, which is the one that gives you the tool with usb cable and software to adjust things from your laptop.

For the V8 S4... Boost = Throttle Sensitivity. I know that 6 = default (which I assume means the stock ECU setting for throttle sensitivity)

Timing should be between 4 - 6 if you are running 93 octane. Stick to 4 around hotter temps and up to 6 for those cold winter days.

    A/F should be around 6

Sorry for such vague descriptions I'm at work now and was anxious to respond to someone that's interested in playing around with settings ;)

I'll post some more details up shortly when I get some more free time.

    I dont have a b7 s4, wish I did...but for a b7 a4 stock setting is 6-2-9

As for the selector, you get a program and you get to adjust the settings as you want. You can turn up more boost, fuel, etc...but if you turn your boost or timing up to like 9 your ecu will prob pull timing and not give you the amount requested and over time will ignore the requested values and give you what is safe for the car.

I think the selector is convenient. There are two types: regular and plus. One has the basic program:A, B, C and you can switch back and forth such as stock, file 1 and valet, I believe. Secondly, is the plus, where you can adjust your own settings on your computer and implement them on your car. With this one, you are able to do valet and set it as one mode, you can create two custom programs B&C, which can be your 100 octane or 93 tune if you chose to tune accordingly. It basically the same as the regular, just has more adjustable and tuning capabilities.

Revo is the only chip that gives you the ability to adjust your settings.

if you have further questions, shoot me a pm =D

Re: REvo Switching unit and a few Q's

I actually do have the REVO select plus.... I came with the cable, just not the software....... I don't know why, the shop I was dealing with had them backoredered and it took a long time to even get the unit itself. Thanks for your help though! As of now, I am running Boost/TR at 6, Timing at 4, and A/F at 5. How does that sound to you Kryptonic? Thanks again for the info and help.

BTW these numbers were adj. on a Dyno at my shop, I can always go back and have them change it a bit, I would just like to have someone else's opinion.

^didnt know that, but it looks very limited to the cars that can do it...looks like only vw's

I guess in the near future it will be readily available for all cars. As for that selector it should have came with the disk!

I've used it on my old GTI to adjust the boost load but never played with timing or A/F ratio. My S4 has the program but I have not tried to use it.
