A6 or A4???

Hey. I have a 2000 A6 2.7t 6-speed with an APR 93 chip and was wondering how the power would compare to an A4 with BT upgrade. Im thinking about selling my car and picking up a b5 but don't want to lose any power. Also what supporting mods need to be done while upgrading to a KO4? Thanks alot

Coming from an A6 to a A4 is a big downgrade in power even with a k04. You are coming from ~325chp (w/chip) to a stock B5 A4 that is either 150bhp or 170bhp(01 model). A k04 turbo upgrade is for one thing, not worth it nowadays unless you find one used, it will give you roughly 235chp, and there are just better turbos out there. If you are looking for similar or better chp than the A6 you had, I would look into the GTRS and up.

Of course the A6 is heavier, but I am talking chp.

And to upgrade to a k04, you would need tune, injectors, fpr, fmic, mbc, tip, and exhaust set up. All could be had for fairly cheap. You could find a used ECU with a k04 file and all other parts can be found for cheap. Ebay fmic and all. It is the turbo that is expensive, if you can even find it at all. Those things are on back order like a constipation patient . When there is a used one in the classfied section, better jump on it right away.

ko4 isn't bt, and you'll need more than a ko4 to feel anything like a Stage II 2.7t

My Stage 3 even though it's one the smaller turbo's holds its on versus newer cars.
This dude in a 330 kept looking over at me because i was driving to slow for him then his passenger (girl) was lookin over my car and they started giggling. I blipped the throttle and crept up in order to see if he wanted to play, ofcourse he did. He jumped as the light was turning green i took off by time right behind him. by the time i was ready to hit third gear he was seeing my bumper. We stopped for the red light and I rolled down my window and said hmm your car is pretty slow is it broken? I laughed in his face and asked if he wants my mechanics number.

Oh and the girl in his car was laughing at him, "see thats wat u get for talkin shhit... hahaha"

You are coming from ~325chp (w/chip) to a stock B5 A4 that is either 150bhp or 170bhp(01 model).

He is not trying to come to a stock B5, he is trying to come to a BT B5 A4. So at least be fair in answering his question. K04 maxed out will give him 250 vs 315 w/ the A4 being lighter (yeah advantage still in favor of chipped 2.7t) eliminator series turbos will put him in similar power range as chipped 2.7t, full BT setup will yield even more.

End result: BT A4 will be much more nimble without sacrificing power than chipped A6.

Thats fine, and APR 93 chip isn't stage II, I see nothing about exhaust/downpipes...

Yeah, I was wondering where he got stage II from.

apr stage I a6 2.7t... 250awhp, 3700lbs
gtrs a4 1.8t............. 260awhp, 3300lbs
