    coilover problem

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
so i just installed H&R coilovers on my S4 and now that they have settled they are rubbing like crazy. When i took the wheels off of the rear to raise the car up i cant see the perches that are attached to all the threads. They are behind some metal wall in my car. Are they installed upside down? or am i missing something? The front ones are fine.

I have 19" BBS RS-GTs with 235/25 potenzas on them. What height would you guys recommend with this wheel size and tire combo to get it as aggressive/low as possible with out rubbing?

I have to fix this problem as soon as possible before i have to do a lot of driving.... so any help would be very much appreciated!

    Re: coilover problem

come on guys help me out already! I know there are people on here who have coilovers who have adjusted the height on them... are the things that you turn to lower and raise the car above or below the spring in the back?

from ground to fender how high is it for people on here? I know people have posted numbers before... thanks!

metal wall? If the H&R are like the Stasis street sports, the perch is under the spring and separate from the rear shock. generally people who adjust rear height on the SS remove the rear spring to get to the perch. you must be really low. for 235 tire at ET38 (RS-GT) I doubt you'd have a problem at 24.75" maybe even 24.5" ground to fender.

    Re: coilover problem

The rear is not a coil over setup like the front. You need to drop the subframe, or at least the two rear bolts and have a friend use a breaker bar to get access to it. I had to adjust mine 4 times to get the height I wanted. I went from 3/4 threads showing form the top to 1/4 threads to get it raised an inch.

Adjustable perch in the rear is on the bottom on H&R. Installed incorrectly.
