    Les Schwab sux!!

    RANT:

Sooo, i ordered new wheels about two months ago from Raderwerks. I got the Mten, staggered, custom powder coated matte black (500$ extra for that) Ive been waiting and waiting and jonesing these wheels. Well, they finally arrived today... hooray!! I take them down to Les Schwab to have them mounted/balanced, and the dude who did it fucking nicked one of the 9.5 inch wheels!! It was a small nick but it was VERY, VERY noticable to me! So, im thinking in my head (while looking at this wheel very angrily) about using touch up paint to cover the nick. As im looking at it, the dude walks up and goes "i mean, its not like i dropped it" what a fucking dick!! i proceeded to tell the guy that i payed in excess of 1600$ for these wheels and he should show some fucking professionalism and at least say he was sorry which he hadnt even done yet! I get the manager out there to see what they will do for me about it... his response "we mounted these from the back so theres no way we couldve done this" my comeback "you have got to be kidding me! look over there in the corner, remember i brought these things to you still in the box! not to mention the guy just admitted he did it!" Heres what im soooo pissed about, not the fact that the guy nicked my wheel; but the fact that no one ever apologized, or even acted like they cared one bit. I mean, i got home and touched it up so you cant tell, but thats not the point! In the end, all they would do for me was refund me the price of the mount and balance for that ONE wheel. WOOHOO 125$ powder coat job ruined, but no biggie cuz i got 13.75$ refunded. God i wish i lived somewhere that i could get ANY kind of real auto service!

    END RANT/

ps. sorry if there are grammer mistakes or incomplete sentences and such but im heated as hell!!

That just sucks, that's why I'm always afraid to take my equipment or car to any shop. People just don't care as much as you do.

do you mean, i shouldve taken it to a better shop? thats what im saying, i live in humboldt county where there is like ZERO "high class" automobile shops of any kind. Les Schwab is about the best i got. Ill have pics up in a day or two, since i last posted pics, i got the wheels, new tires, coils, headlights and a rear sway. its gonna be sooo sick. stay tuned!

Bingo that line isn't an excuse for someone to fuck up a job so simple, that Johnny Noname at the "Used Tire Emporium" can do it.

    Re: Les Schwab sux!!

    Well,

    This is Zak, Sam's boyfriend.

Let me say this -- I work at Les Schwab, and it was VERY unprofessional for him to say the above stated, if true. That guy should have gotten his ass kicked all over the service room if you told that to the manager.

I've been with the company for about 2 1/2 years now and its not uncommon to knick or chip peoples wheels. You need to go back and ask for the MANAGER and not the Assistant manager, which is probably who you talked to as when customers ask for the "manager" typically its the assistant who deals with cases like that.

I have a guy that I know over on NW quattro, one of my fellow employees chipped the wheel on his 20" Stern ST-1's and we just ordered a whole new wheel in and replaced it free of charge. I took over on the situation and handled the situation myself, and there were no more issues. Les Schwab is known for their customer service, but if you leave there unsatisfied you need to tell that to the managment. We want your business, and we don't like to have people leaving with paying for a service they didn't like.

Second thought, if I was you, go back in there, talk to the manager, and tell them you want them to re-powdercoat the wheel.

Trust me, Les Schwab IS high quality service, as we strive for 100% customer satisfaction.

I'm sorry to hear about the issue, and don't let one employee turn you away from Les Schwab, if you continue to have issues go to a different store, sometimes the store can have a lack in customer service and satisfaction, and it will be dealt with within the company. But never hesitate to let them know exactly how you feel.

They used the mag machine, and you clap the wheel on the lip. If it was a reverse drop center, the face would be face down, but that doesnt mean they couldnt have dropped something on the face moving it around to air it up or balance it.

Bring it back. Put your foot down. End of story. Period.

    Re: Les Schwab sux!!

^^ i really appreciate your response. wish i wouldve been able to deal with you. but like i said, i touched it up good enough so you cant even really tell. basically im in the situation where ive been waiting for these wheels for SOOO long, id rather just take it on the chin instead of wait another however long to sort it out and send it back out for powdercoating. its like i said, its not so much the nick, but how the assholes handled it.

    Re: Les Schwab sux!!

both big 'o tires and discount tire suck a fat one too. both places scratched my RS4 reps after i specifically stated "do not scratch the wheels, they're new". neither place did shit about it for me. lesson learned, i won't EVER be going back to cheap places for mounting again.

    Re: Les Schwab sux!!

^it sucks but what zak said is true. sometimes you just can't help it and something random will fall or sometimes you'll just pick up a brand new wheel - look at it - and BAM you see some eye-sore of a nick on a spoke. it's happened to me before, and it sucks when people don't handle it correctly. (like the guy who nicked yours)

that being said, if you know anyone who has worked in a tire shop at some point in their life who's still in the automotive industry - a lot of places will let people use their machines to just mount up a set if it's not busy. we've got a guy who comes to our shop every week or so and does a few sets of tires for his car (he races an 1800hp monte carlo and has to put new tires on after each trip out with the thing lol)

    Re: Les Schwab sux!!

sometimes it doesn't matter where you go. You need to find a tire tech that you can trust. This tire tech could be at the cheapest or most expensive place in town. Youjust never know.

Some people have more respect for your stuff than others. I was burned by Discount tire twice & Town Fair Tire once. Unfortunatly the 2nd time they were attempted to remount the same wheel that had refinished for me since the f'd it up the first time. I finally gave up on them.

If you call les schwab corporate, explain them the situation calmly (key!!) i am sure they will take care of you. They are a big company and $150 repair is chump change to them compared to being blasted online by unhappy customers.
