    Fuel Injectors

Would anybody be able to help me out here?
I have some really soft clicking in the fuel rail
Or the injectors that are constant but when I
accelerate the clicking gets louder and
matches the speed that I’m going at.
I was thinking about getting new injectors
Because recently I threw a code that said
    I was running too lean.
So I pretty much have a stock car except for
I have Hot air intake and a naca duct feeding it
so big turbo or anything. The car has 115000
miles so would it be a good idea to get the injectors
and if so which ones, should I go for ones like
42# Bosch Green Top Injectors would it be worth it
    or should I go with 630cc Deka's $188 / 4 pc
I think maybe the fuel injectors can’t spray enough
for the amount of air. Would it be bad to get injectors
    with higher cc?

    Re: Fuel Injectors

    Is your car stock?
The last thing oyu want is to buy injectors. I also HIGHLY doubt that the injectors are causing the problem. If you like, go to Autozone and buy some Seafoam and put the whole thing into a tank of gas right before you fill up so it swirls around.

The ticking is probably a lifter noise. And adding bigger injectors wont help you get power or anything without also adding more air to the combustion chamber. You will just end up running real rich.

No, the injectors would just fire at a lower duty cycle. Nothing would change.

wow was i off track, ok so i did an oil change added more detergent to it and i still get the clicking that seems to be coming from the injectors would it be worth it to buy new oem injectors or should i just clean the ones that i have. I also tried some fuel injector cleaner thought the gas tank and i still here the clicking.

I don't know about that but it is an old engine 115000 miles on the old girl but the thing is when i accelerate i get this clicking sound coming from the front not sure what it is.
it speeds up as i speed up and goes away when i stop or idle but as soon as i start accelerating it comes back.

    Re: Fuel Injectors

you sure it is in your engine? The fact you said it totally stops at idle kinda makes me think it is not the engine...

115K isn't old for this engine, it's more like middle-aged

it speeds up as i speed up and goes away when i stop or idle but as soon as i start accelerating it comes back.
I'm confused, it stops at idle or when you're stoped, so how do you know it's comming from the fuel injectors?
    a clicking noise could be a dozen things, but as others have stated;
wheel bearings are a know issue with the car, and most german engines have valvetrain tick to them, it's nothing bad, it's just there.

because recently I threw a code that said
    I was running too lean.
on a F/I car, this usualy means a vacuum leak

    Re: Fuel Injectors

This is probably waayyyy off base.

but at 110,000 i started hearing a clicking noise when driving like you and it didn't sound as bad at idle... (found out a tooth on my timing belt was floating around) 2k miles later more teeth came off the belt and i needed a new motor...

when was the last time the belts were changed?

    Re: Fuel Injectors

maybe i confused you guys a bit with my poor English, let me start again ok
the car is always making a clicking noise it's sort of soft and i traced it to the fuel rail or the injectors
when i drive around i can here the clicking a bit louder. when i accelerate the clicking matches the acceleration (ex. tik tik tik tik tiktiktiktiktiktiktiktiktik) that was going from 2000 to 4000rpm

    Re: Fuel Injectors

could just be lifter noise, which could make you think it is coming form the fuel rail considering its right there. Our cars have lots of valvetrain noise, if it is a soft noise that isnt very noticeable good chance it is lifter noise or something since your now saying it is ALWAYS present even at idle?

    Re: Fuel Injectors

could be an exhaust leak, would that make a clicking sound when i drive and would it increase in speed as i accelerate?
