missfiring/no power/epc light

well my car had been sitting since thursday night and i went to drive it a few minutes ago and this happened.

warmed up great, no missfires. once the idle settled down to 800 i began to putt down the road. came to a stop sign and continued on my way. shifted into 2nd at about 3k as per usual and no power. took it out of gear for a second stopped and tried first again. got up to 5mph and it started to misfire pretty bad so i put it in neutral and pulled over. the EPC light is now on and it was idling at exactly 1000 rpms. let it sit for a second and nothing changed. dead on at 1k rpms. turned the car off and then back on and it struggled to start and missfired pretty bad again while bouncing between 400-700rpms.

logged the car and cam up with this:

16686 - Cylinder 2: Misfire Detected
P0302 - 008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
17966 - Throttle Actuator (G186): Electrical Malfunction
P1558 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded
17953 - Throttle Valve Controller: Malfunction
P1545 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent
17953 - Throttle Valve Controller: Malfunction
P1545 - 008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
17987 - Throttle Actuator (J338): Adaptation Not Started

my battery has been dying a lot on me as it's an oddessey(sp?) light weight unit and i've only been driving my car sporaticlly. but today it started up fine for once. and i recently had my ECU out for the 550 file upgrade from REVO so i hope no water got into the box.

im thinking my TB might be shot. but i hope not.

im going to go do a TBA real quick and see if that helps.

any ideas guys?

well cleared the codes and these 2 showed back up.

17966 - Throttle Actuator (G186): Electrical Malfunction
P1558 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded
17987 - Throttle Actuator (J338): Adaptation Not Started
P1579 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded

tried to do a TBA via VAG COM but it wouldn't let me. well, it wouldn't let me switch to basic settings as the button in the measuring blocks page wouldn't hi-light.

did a quick log for it and came up with this:

thoughts?

my next step is to remove the TB and see what it looks like.

also, after the VAGCOM TBA failed i did it the regular way and tried to start the car, but now the battery seems to be dead. go figure. going to go jump it real quick but i doubt it will do anything considering the TB error im getting in VAGCOM.

I had a similar issue occur. I ended up having to get a new TB. Try removing, cleaning and doing a TBA first.

but where did you get your new TBA from?

online sites i see it for $450+ new

cant find one used anywhere

I ended up getting a B5 s4 TB from a friend and using the 034 adapter plate.

well after a good cleaning and battery recharge, the TBA action still would not take. shitty.

oh well, i've got some lines on a few local Passat TB's for cheap. so i guess i'll pick one up tomorrow and go from there.
