Why do the stock b6 seats suck?

OK, i'm new to the Audi scene and all but seriously, the stock B6 seats suck b@lls.

From what I've seen, the typical route is to find a set of Recaros from ebay.de.

Instead of throwing down $3-4k on a set of used seats, I was wondering if anyone has decided to go with a custom interior (no, not like the cars on The Fast and the Furious)--new foam, plush seats with heat / cooling option?

you can get a set of S4 seats for about $1000, thats what most people do.

As far as buying, PayPal now works in Germany so you don't have to go through the whole wire transfer thing anymore.

I sat in my passenger seat while someone else drove the car for the first time a few weeks ago. I kept sliding of the seat and realized how shitty they are, especially after you clean them.

ive been wanting to try a mod...i came across a lumbar support repair diy and figured i could just remove it all together which should sit me in my seat more...i might give it a try soon

I think they are pretty comfortable for casual driving and have a good range of adjustments even if they aren't power (mine are though). I'm 6'4" and if I push the seat all the way back even I can't dip the clutch all the way! As far as keeping you where you are during cornering they have a lack of bolstering and thus aren't very sporting. But they are no worse then the last non-sport 3-series or Lexus IS last time I drove them.

On this note, I've been driving an 08 Pontiac Grand Prix as a rent a car ever since mine got hit and wow. Wow. Wow. I miss my Audi more than I could ever miss any girlfriend or family member. The interior is cheap plastic, the shifter has a hole with a screw in it right where my finger rests, and the seats suck ass straight up.

Admittedly though, while on a long road trip my friends were complaining about the seats in my A4 and said that my C-class' seats were much more comfortable to sit in.

our C240's seats are like bricks, my car is a cadillac next to that, well then again if u put a 220lb guy in a thin hard chair for 6 years for a couple hours sometimes more everyday it gets real soft lol.

this seems to be a trend with volkswagen and audi seats. They don't make the sides exaggerated enough or narrow enough so you don't slide. And i totally understand on the sliding after you clean them. It's like you're a puck sitting on an air hockey table :( At least the leather's nice right?

hated my factory seats to the point where they were making me go see a chiroporactor. After going from Recaro SRD's that were rebuilt with more lumbar support, the a4 seats were inadequate.

So replaced them with these and now my ass and back are much happier. The recaro air bladders for more lumbar support are wonderful too.

Correct. Platinum is like a light grey or greyish/white.
