How to achieve Maximum WHP and WTQ?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I recently purchased a 2007 Audi A4 Quattro Tiptronic and from doing quite a bit of searching, I am not 100% on how I can achieve high end WHP and WTQ. I am looking for something in the area of:

    275 HP+
    &
    310 TQ+

    both to the wheels.

I know I would need a K04 turbo kit, but what would I need after this? I am also aware that I would need: Chip/Exhaust/CAI/FSI Pump/Test Pipe/Intercooler.

Can anyone here, from personal experience, detail a working combination to produce such numbers? I have seen some on these boards who claim to produce this. Also, from a look at AudiTude_2.0t's posts, he claims to produce a 0-60 time of just under 5. What kind of setup could possibly allow one to achieve this?

I have 240awhp & 277awtq with the mods listed in my signature, I got this on a mustang dyno.

was that on 93 or 100 octane, as it appears you have both programs.

Very impressive! From an estimate or true measurement, where would you say you stand on a 0-60 run?

A KO4 Kit will get you close to 275WHP but prob more like 250WHP, usually you purchase a kit such as Stassis or APR. You get a turbo charger and the software to run it all in one kit. you then will need an exhaust and most likely a fuel pump. A intercooler upgrade is also recommended but not necessary to get this power.

The other option is to buy a turbo kit with a larger turbo also from APR or AWE (these are not quite released yet but will be soon) This kit also comes with a turbo much larger than the Ko4 and software to run it. You will also need to purchase a fuel pump and exhaust. This setup will get you around 300+WHP.

I got those numbers on 93 octane, and those numbers were put down right after the fuel pump, FMIC, and reflash were done. The mechanic said it should put down slightly higher numbers once the car gets used to the new software and mods.

As for my 0-60, I have no idea. The day I did the install I went to the 1/8 mile track after everything was in and my best time was a 8.901. They don't give time slips so I don't know what my trap speed was and if I remember my 60' was 1.9 something.

I found this AWE K04 at http://www.avalonmotorsports.com/ind...roducts_id=387 - would you recommend this? It states -

335 crank hp and 357 crank torque when the Audi S3 intercooler and a cold air intake kit is added
350 crank hp and 363 crank torque when the Audi S3 intercooler and a cold air intake kit on race fuel program

    - which in terms of WHP would be around 265 whp / 280 wtq w/o race fuel program.

With a setup like this, what other modifications could I possibly add to increase the 265/280?

I think that this is for transverse mounted engines(A3, GTI) rather than longtitudinally mounted(A4) so it won't work.

It is definitely not for the A4 Quattro

The new APR stage 3 kit should get you in the area of those numbers, but it has yet to be released so no one as of yet has experience with it. Also your driving a Tip, your going to have issues putting that much power through it.

Really...? I knew that the Tiptronic wasn't built to withstand high end HP & TQ, but even 275/300+ to the wheels?? Geez..

When is the new APR kit due to release?

Re: How to achieve Maximum WHP and WTQ?

The engine is 200hp stock, thats crank hp, 30% driveline loss and your talking 140ish to the wheels. You want to put 275 to the wheels which would be a 100% increase in HP and you expect the stock tip tranny to hold that??? I don't think any stock auto tranny would take a 100% increase in hp without some form of upgrades. I don't imagine the standard would deal with the increase without at least a clutch upgrade.......

As far as the APR kit is concerned, they won't announce a date even though they have a demo of both the Stage 3 and K04 they are bringing to shows, more than likely available next spring.

I chose 275 and 300+ as a goal for myself after seeing one of your posts a while back. How fast does this run you for a 0-60?

the only current Ko4 kit availible is the Stassis for our cars. I would wait a month or so to see what the new APR KO4 kit looks like, or the new APR big turbo kit. It will be better to compare the 3. AWE should be releasing their BT kit and their KO4 kit as well soon. If you wait you get to choose the best deal.

I didn't and got the old APR KO4 kit, I now wish I had waited as the new kits will produce more power.

That dyno was a MAHA dyno and reads in crank horsepower. It was 195 wheel horsepower in that dyno. For a more realistic 275whp or 320+chp you'll be looking at a bigger turbo kit.
