Oil Warning - Please Explain

Hi folks, I've done a search to find out what the warning i just started getting this AM is. I found out there were 3 oil warnings for a B6, but I couldn't tell which I had. It is a graphic of a little oil can with the word 'min'. Does this mean my oil level is low? Should I grab a couple qts of 5w-40 mobil 1 on the way home and drop it in? I don't want to hurt the motor. It's a 3.0.

that sounds like your oil level is too low. Check the level on the dipstick to make sure. If it is in fact too low, see if you can get a buddy of yours to drive you up to the store to get some more oil. Call me paranoid, but I wouldnt want to drive it if the level was too low. I always carry a spare bottle of oil with me, just in case.

If it's the "first" low oil warning, you have plenty of oil to drive the car to get some oil. I just would go track the car or anything on the way.

Wouldn't that be 0-40 European Oil formula Mobil One? Meets the Audi/VW spec.
