There's a place off of Brokaw, in between 880 and 101. I dont' remember the name of the shop, but the guys at America's Tire recommended them to me. The price was very fair as well.

vex motorsports where we had the swap/fix gtg does alignments. I will be getting a alignment there within this week probably.

Does auto innovations adjust the front camber? For those of us with B5s you can only move the subframe side to side to make it even with a "special tool".

Vex are the only folks that will touch my suspension.
do a search for 'props to vex' and read my review. their main guy Jeff is the f'ing man. He knows his stuff! you wont be disappointed.

I've been to Vex before and they are great, friendly staff, know their stuff.
Just tried Auto Innovations for the first time last week. Also did a great job, know their stuff, friendly.

You can't go wrong either way, both give attention to detail and treat your car as if they were their own.

Next time it's going to be really hard to decide.

i know it is a long drive but City Tire Sales in modesto. That is where I take all my cars. Its about 45 minutes from my house and I know they wont fuck me over, and they give me free alignments. Im purity sure you wont drive there from san jose but for anyone in that area, its good for all suspension work

A few comments about Vex.

I went in Friday to get some Koni FSD installed on my 2005 Audi A6. Like with any shop that you first go to you wonder about ones workmanship. I had an appt at 12 noon, but dropped off the car at 1045 and went on a 2.5 hour walk to Japantown. They were short handed and didn't finish my car until about 6pm. I had no problem on the wait since I wasnt in a rush.

I started to drive off and I hear some rattling in the front. I thought my struts were going to fall off. I take it back immediately and let them drive the car. They heard the same noise. They had an idea what it was, but it was late. I decided to leave the car at their shop which was a less inconvience that driving back in the morning. My wife was working in the morning and I had some volunteer work to do from 8-1pm.

I called them at 1pm Saturday and the car was ready. I took the car and all was good. The issue was what they thought and they have remedied the issue. I would like to point out also that someone at the shop spent some time on some guys MB on some suspension clicking noise. THey figured it out and off he went. It was nice to see some good customer service there.

I am not sure if there is any ASE mechanics there, but they have the tools and the knowledge. The the cost of labor and customer service is there, it is nice to see that there are somes shops around to get service done on your car. My previous shop closed down. Next week I will be taking my car for some brake work to be done.

So at the end, clean shop with young guys doing honest work. I tend to find now a days shops with older guys charging me $90-120 per hour on labor cost for simple stuff. So for me, general service work I would not have an issue taking my cars there. I am not to sure about engine work, unless others have done some engine work there and can share their stories.

you walked from san jose to japantown??? Even if you took caltrain + muni, it would have taken longer than 2.5 hours :|

I too have that rattling noise as well. Its been a week and was told it was the new springs settling in. I hope they get back to me regarding this.

Still think Scott Fraser at Stevens Creek Audi is the man. I really don't trust people that only charge $60 to do a proper alignment on a 4 wheeled drive car. I think Stevens Creek also doesn't charge full bore on their alignments...but only Scott could comment on that.

Honestly....I'd take a drive up to Castro Valley to go see Brandon @ Roger Kraus Racing...won't get a better alignment anywhere
