    Question Shift Linkage?

Picked up my car just over a week ago and have been enjoying every moment of it! Black on Black 2.0TQ 6MT

I started notice yesterday that when I have the clutch all the way in and shift into gears 1-3, that it's not really smooth on the shifter. I can feel resistance and what sometimes feels like a grinding. However, I have never heard any gears grinding or anything like that.

It is only the way it feels. So my question is, is my shift linkage out of wack or is this normal? (Or maybe I'm being paranoid...)

This is my first manual car so I'm not very familiar with them yet...any input is appreciated. Thanks!

    Edited for clarity

search for sychros and get a box of Kleenex. You'll be sad. It's like the number one unanimous complaint about our cars. There are all kinds of voodoo remedys. I got a jhm shortshifter and it cleaned up a lot of the slop, but I'm far from happy.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I thought that the synchro was used when taking the clutch out and engaging the gear...? I don't have any issues there.

It only seems abnormal when the clutch is all the way in and I'm putting it into gear. So the transmission and engine should be completely disconnected thereby not engaging the synchros.
