or any owners that go stage 3 on the zf transmission i would recommend taking it easy on the E clutch pack for 4th and 5th, its very thin and small. without a valvebody, i was able to blow out that gear in less than 2 month on asp stage 3 w/ intercooler, downpipe, borla exhaust and some other stuff.

transmission was perfect before, no way it overheated, i used to vag the temp every day and highest was 85c in hottest day in summer.

to the people that have been running stage 3 or up on the tip i dont know how hard you drive your car, but i beat on my sh!t like it was no tomorrow.

moral of the story is, clutch is weak, holding stage 3 power i think it would need a refresh/rebuild ever couple of years if you run it really hard ( if not sooner)

this of course is just my personal opinion, but i wouldn't expect any built by any transmission company would hold high hp + ALOT of abuse for long long period of time.

that is ok this car will be my daily beater and my project car will be a 74 or 76mm bulleyes turbo'd 2jz on either a th400 or c4, if you want big power in an auto domestic transmission are the only way to go for longevity and indestructibility :)

just figure i share my experience

scroll down for burnt clutch packs
