gas shortage in southeast, octane booster?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
ok so for those who aren't livng in the southeast right now, we are having a gas shortage, especially in the atlanta and surrounding areas and there is no premium gas available and its very hard to find plus gas too... in order to not feel so bad about putting in regular gas would it suffice to add octane booster to increase the octane or should be just wait until there is more premium gas available.

now im sure for some ppl you can't just not drive so you may gave to do this as the only solution, but as im in college right now i can avoid driving my car and bum rifes off my friends but i was just wondering what you guys thought about this

Bum rides if you can. If you can't take a bus.

Seriously though, I believe our car have a "retard" mode where the car will still run but with alot less performance, and MPG.

Yea, you can run regular without really hurting anything, if you absolutely must. I wouldn't be surprised if those octane boosters really do more harm then good anyway, but i really don't know.

I would just bum rides if i were you, even once the gas shortage is over

haha... ok thats what i was thinking. i was just talking with my salesman the other day about a possible recall for my car and got to talking and told him there was no premium gas so he said use octane booster. i said thats a good idea to him, but in my mind i had a few doubts as to how good that stuff actually was for your engine.

looks like ill still be bumming rides for the next week or so!

If you want to use Octane Booster, there's really only three I know of that really work: Lucas, Lubro Moly Speedtec, and NOS Race Formula.
