    So I Pressure tested....

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Any heres's what a I found. There's a leak at the y-pipe on both sides. I've got a few questions...

    1. what size are those hoses? Getting t-bolt clamps...
    2. I pressure tested at approx. 18lbs is that O.K?
    3. The leak wasn't noticeable untill the pressure was bout 18lbs in the system, is this still a problem?
    4. I've had CEL light on, with misfires/lean codes, think this will solve the issue?

    Thanks.

The Y pipe is never under boost, only vac..... so thats not a boost leak for you.... I'm not really suprise that it started to leak under 18psi cause its not meant to hold that.

How did you pressure test? Did you use soapy water?

    Re: So I Pressure tested....

Tested using the AWE "tool".. Yes, I sprayed soapy water in the area since I was hearing air leaking. I agree it's a vacuum side, so my question is. Will it matter if the leak is there? Is it getting to much air that the MAF is not accounting for?

Don't know if I should take the stock clamps on and put t-bolt one on or not..

    Thanks.

You shouldnt need tbolt clamps if your leak is not under pressure, Its sucking so its getting unmetered air.

    Re: So I Pressure tested....

how bad is it leaking? if air is getting in through there it can cause sluggish performance, the accordion hose going from the maf to the y-pipe was leaking on my car and caused pretty crappy acceleration

    Re: So I Pressure tested....

Doesn't seem it's a bad leak, however noticeable at 18psi of pressure I tested at.. The car does bog on acceleration. All this came about after a month of the darin intake mod.
