Got My Error Codes, Please advise!

    Hey guys,

I went to the dealership and they ran the diagnosis on my car and pulled error codes P3303, P1519, and P0441. The service rep said that those error codes meant I had to replace my camshaft seals. He quoted me 12-13 hours of labor. However, after looking through the forums and calling two independent shops I was quoted 5-6 hours of work. Has anyone dealt with this and know how much time and money it requires? What's my best option?

Here is what the full diagnosis read "P3303 outlet camshaft position sensor B2 open circuit performed trouble shooting with scan tool and need to replace sensor then retest. P1519 intake cam shaft position sensor sporadic fault pperformed trouble shooting and it passed at this time but found tsb and cam adjuster seals need to be replaced on both banks. Also fault P0441EVAP incorrect flow, found defective N 80 valve."

    Thanks in advance!

Next time go to Advanced Auto Parts or Autozone. They read your OBD for free.

I recommend you get a second opinion/estimate from an independent Audi specialist.

Update: so I got a 2nd opinion and they think due to my experiences (engine has while stopped at an intersection twice...rpms fluctuate, then dies) the camshaft sensor needs to be fixed just like its stated in the audi techs diagnosis. I THINK the dealership wanted to replace my camshaft seal bc its the most costly fix. I mean, it said that it passed the test and the TSB said to replace the seals. So there's no hard evidence that it needs immediate fixing. There's no leakage of oil or oil smells as of now and I've put in oil twice in the past two months, which is normal. So as of now, I'm getting my sensors replaced and will wait out the other repairs. Does this sound reasonable? Thanks.

Yes, that is a reasonable plan for sure. I have not reviewed the DTC codes, but a faulty crankshaft speed/position sensor is implicated when the engine dies like that, so you may want to have that replaced as well.
