    Power loss?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello all, this is my first post, I am familiar with the B5 S4's and i love my stage 3 to death, I am currently running 3 inch dp's no cats, and dual 3 inch straight pipes with bullet resonators, my question is do you think i am losing power here? it sounds mean but if i am losing power here, what are your opinions on the fast intentions catback? thanks

    Re: Power loss?

no. you're not losing power becasue of your exhaust diameter (which is very overkill).
If you were in an N/A car, you would be, sicne there would be nearly zero backpressure, but on a turbocharged car, the turbo restricts enough, to give enough backpressure to the exhaust, so you can run no exhaust if you like. that's also why people run open dumps on the bottom of hte downpipes, less exhaust means more power on this car!

    Re: Power loss?

That is what i figured, but i just wanted to check because over on AW someone was trying to argue the point that dual 3 inch was bad for velocity or something, it may be overkill but it sounds B.A.! thanks for the answer,

    Re: Power loss?

well im not at the house with the car tonight but when i am tomorrow, ill snap some and post em up, the piping isnt mandrel, so it kinda sucks, and it sits lower than heck, but its sounds b.a. and i noticed a power gain with it, especially at higher speeds, f.y.i. the car was equipped with a milltek dual system

    Re: Power loss?

For those asking about my dual 3 inch exhaust(dp's and catback) here it is along with a couple pics showing you why its in the air ;) and yes, as I stated, it is one peice from the tips all the way up to the v-bands right after the flex sections, its also frickin heavy, in the spring I am having a custom Mandrel bent 4inch Titanium catback made, it will be v-banded into 2 peices and go dual 3 inch to single 4 inch back to dual 3 inch right before the tips ( i hate the coffee can look, and I want to be stealthy!!) and will have 3 4inchx12 inch resonators, cost you ask? in the neighborhood of $650, gotta love friends!
