    1.75 in exhaust cut out

I've been searching for a pair of exhaust cut outs that would go right in front of the resonators. I can't find any 1.75 inch cutouts; only ones i can find are 2 inches or larger. I straight piped through my resonators on my last car and didn't like the gap from behind so i would like to do it this way. Eventually i would like a full exhaust but for now this will work. Does anyone know where i could find a 1.75 inch cutout? Or could i rig in a 2 incher?

If you're going to do that, why did you get an Audi? You should sell it and go get a civic. That way, your not taking the Luxury out of Luxury Car.

In college with limited funds. I like the cutouts so i can close it and smog or take a road trip. The fact that i can't spend a grand on an exhaust system and instead gonna add something completely unseen yet sounds great takes the luxury out of it? I take it you have never heard an a4 with a cutout after the muffler.. only a small grumble.. sounds very very nice. If it was before the muffler than i would agree with you.

I can't tell if thats sarcasm. Its just putting a y pipe in between the muffler and the resonators. Very easy to convert back to stock.

    Try Jegs.com

If Jegs does not have them, you could have an exhaust fab up some manual dumps.

ok the stock exhaust has a muffler, than more pipe to the 2 resonators on each side. So putting in y pipes after the muffler will bypass the resonators. Without the resonators the exhaust note through the muffler sounds great! and with a cut out, i can close it anytime and the exhaust gases will go back through the resonators.

Tried jegs and summit with no luck. Only 2 inches available. I would imagine a exhaust shop could put adapters to fit a 2 inch cut out right?

i am lost as what you want to do, your best bet is hit up a muffler shop and they will do it for ya. I am sure they have all sizes in stock. I would imagine that other makes have less than 2" piping

What, a straight dump right after the turbo with no cat doesn't intrigue you?

Don't act like you don't like it.

As for your question, sdjeff, you can weld a 2" pipe onto a 1 3/4" pipe. It will fit over it like a sleeve so the internal flow isn't exactly perfect but it will weld on easily. As a matter of fact, I have a 2 1/2" pipe welded onto my 2 1/4" oem exhaust pictured above, so I know you can do it.

But where the hell do we have 1 3/4" piping? Where do you want to put these? If you really want to save money, just put one dump where I did.
    Ignorance is bliss.

The piping is from the muffler back. Atleast thats what came up when i searched on here. I would like to do it after the muffler because i dont want it to be too loud. Thanks for the help
