My friend just bought a 07 RS4 in black and wants an exhaust but doesn't know which is best for the car. He paid cash for the car so he obviously doesn't care about cost just wants nice subtle sound and good performance. If cost is not a concern, there simply is no substitute for MTM. It is by far, the best sounding, best constructed, best fitting system on the market, but it is double to quadruple the cost of other systems. Don't bother with any downpipes, however, as this is basically pissing money away. No gains whatsoever with DP's on the RS4. Milltek would be my second choice but the finish on them hasn't been superb as of late. Personally, I have the Milltek resonated and valved catback. I am very happy with the sound, full functionality, and increased smoothness of the powerband. I believe there is something like an 8-12hp gain but that can't really be felt at this overall power level. Definite improvement in how the car revs, however. (not that stock is bad). I did have to do a little finish work to the milltek myself, however, to get it to look like I wanted.
I am happy with the Milltek, but if I was going to do it again, I would spend the extra $$$ and get the MTM.
