APR is cursed, going with FI!!!

Might seem like a rant and I think I am cursed, but here it goes. Seeing as it is almost impossible for me to get a weekday off (military) I ordered a full APR exhaust, chip, and K&N filter to my mechanic down in Atlanta. My mechanic claimed 2 weeks later all my parts were there and ready for me to go down, so I busted my ass to get a day off on a friday to go get it installed. Well sure enough I get down there, and he goes "Oops your stuff isnt here" so I call up APR and they said an order was never made. Well I was heading down to Auburn anyways for the Auburn vs LSU game, and realized APR headquarters was about 10 minutes away, so I stopped by, and BTW the place is beautiful. I was able to get my car chipped but the exhaust was not in stock, so I went ahead and ordered another one through them to get shipped to my house about a week ago. So here I am, now charged for 2 exhausts, out $5000, with nothing to show. Well I called up APR today to see if my exhaust was on the way, seems they were just finishing it up but the woman said "Your car is very rare as it is tiptronic and we are not sure the exhaust and downpipes will fit" to which I laughed to myself while pounding a hole in my wall. So I cancelled my order from APR and my mechanic, should be getting me $5000 back here in a couple of minutes and I already talked to Danny over at FI. Should have listened and went with them first, I CANT WAIT FOR IT TO FINALLY COME!

Im sorry to say but the person you need to be ranting at is your mechanic who told you the stuff was there. Although APR screwed up as well, I guess they both deserve it.

Dont get me wrong, APR was fine, my mechanic was a douche, but I am still mad they quoted me a 1 week build time (which has passed) and then call and let me know it might not even work, I liked their stuff thats why I was going with them but its not meant to be I guess.

"Oops, your stuff isn't here"? I don't get it. Why would your mechanic say it's there when it wasn't?

Re: APR is cursed, going with FI!!!

I guess so, I called him up and told him i was making the 7 HOUR DRIVE DOWN and he goes "see you then", no hint of anything wrong. I just talked to him tho and he put the money back on my card, thank god for that. And i was confused about APR as well. Their new site is amazing, they have an awsome workshop, but for some reason when I told them I wanted a full exhaust with downpipes for my tiptronic they go "do we even make those" even tho right on the site it says they do, should have known then to walk out. They were good people just didnt seem to know a lot about my car, even though there were 3 S4's in the parking lot....

It's not at all high for two sets of full exhausts - he said he had to order a 2nd while waiting for credit on the first...

I don't know about APR but I let the guys at Achtuning handle getting the right stuff from APR and Stasis for mine. I was going to get Stasis but wanted the downpipes and quieter full system. We're getting the high bias center diff though and will keep the rear sway for now because it came stock as 22mm (2008 S4 Avant apparently got spec'd w/ same as rs4 swaybar most people mention) Front measures 30 or so.

The "do we make x?" was funny though.

I had a similar experience with APR. When I went to order my DPs at waterfest the guy said we don't make those and I told him they're on the site, so he looks at another list and finds that they do make them afterall. After I paid, they told me the pipes would ship out the next monday (this was on saturday). It took them 2 months and several calls to get the pipes to me. I was told they were being made as I talked to APR, but when I get the pipes, the APR tag said "Dec. 14 2007." Not sure what was going on there, but I wasn't too happy. I can understand some of your frustration from dealing with APR.

This is astonishingly poor customer service. I am at a loss for words to describe how pissed I would be if that happened to me. Again, I feel obligated to pass on how happy I have been with LaBree Motorsports...

In terms of quality, customer service, price and performance it's been A+ all the way. I called Brent on a Friday to order my downpipes. I asked if he could have them ready to ship in 7 days and if 2 day express shipping was an option. He said no problem. Then he called me the following Wednesday (5 DAYS LATER) to say they were done and ready to ship. I spoke with his wife Judy and we got it done. I had the newly built downpipes IN HAND on Friday afternoon. Seven day turnaround... you can't beat that. Mind you, their products are on sale through the end of the year so the DPs were only $1100. Bonus!

You won't be disappointed. The V8 sounds so beautiful with a nice exhaust setup.

Hmmm, I've always had good experiences dealing with APR (even in bad situations). Now, their distributors like Eurocode Tuning....well that's a different story! Let's just say that I've spent a pretty penny with them customizing two cars, yet they still treated me like sh*t and didn't recognize (at all) that I was a loyal customer. Stay away from Eurocode (rant complete), but maybe you should try dealing with Keith at APR if you decide to make another purchase in the future. Also, my experience has shown me that we should never deal with a middle man (your mechanic) for custom parts purchased for the Audi.

Chris Gigon from APR has always taken good care of me. My first experience with them was the purchase of the exhaust for my TT. Let's just say that the rep that handled it before Chris stepped in "mishandled" it slightly. Chris straightened everything out for me and gave me an excellent deal on a re-flash of my ECU to their software from GIAC which I was not happy with. I got a fully loaded flash for the cost of a base flash. I've been very happy with their customer service and products. Good people.
