Well im k04 chipped GIAC. Tip tronic blah blah.. my DV sounds like a BOV on low boost but up higher boost (17-20lbs) it sounds normal. Could that be flutter or the wastegate going bad? It drives and pulls normal. The wierd thing is that it only does it from 5-13lbs, anything higher its fine.

    thx

    Re: DV gone bad?

May be the sound of the engine drowing out the sound of the air being recirculated back into the intake, if u got an aftermarket it'll be very noticable at low RPM's especially with a stock exhaust as the engine is very quiet. Floored the engine is producing a symphony of sounds.. Chances are u would feel the DV goin bad either as hesitation, or lack of power.

Mine does EXACTLY the same. I took mine out and checked it and its all good.
IF you really wanna check the DV, take it out, put your finger ontop of the top hole/nipple, and push the piston up towards your finger. If the piston slowly comes back down or holds there, then your DV is good.
