No cats

Hey guys, I was thinking about putting on DPs without cats to go with my Milltek non res cat-back. Does anyone know the pros/cons to doing this? Any info would bevery helpful, thanks.

I run no cats with the full Labree system and everyone says it sounds sick. You will get a CEL. You will smell the exhaust. Exhaust tips get dirtier quicker. Exhaust will be a little louder. I think it pulls harder without the cats though.

You can space the secondary o2 sensors and shut your CEL off I have it done on my 1.8T Passat and am CEL free now. I modified some spark plug anti-foulers and welded them together.

I have piggie Dp's and was considering going cat-less. They said this will stop the CEL for the no cat

go on youtube there are many videos of people with DP and different exhausts. I have APR DP's and milltek resonated and it sounds very nice ( although i did have to expand the apr pipes so it would fit over the milltek midsection). Inside the car with windows up the car almost sounds stock with a little more rumble when you accelerate. I say do it. you will love it. Check engine light can be disabled with O2 spacers.

Do you even remember what the air in Southern California was like in the 70s? It was far worse than it is today. Cats work and they work well. I'm no fan of excessive government regulation but clean air laws benefit everyone.

This isn't about "the Earth" or some environmentalist BS. It's about breathing. I'm a bit selfish when it comes to that. A V8 has nothing to do with it because Audi is held to the same emissions standards as any other company.

For the record, my V8 isn't a daily driver. Driveing a V8 is not equally as bad as running a car without cats. If this was true, V8's wouldn't pass a smog test.

There is no hypocrisy in owning more than one car and complaining about others who roll catless. I can only drive one car at a time.

It's funny how there's no law regarding how many cars one can own but there is a law regarding catalytic converters, and do you know what the fine is for no cats? They'll take your car. There is a reason for that.

BTW, the two strokers are nostalga bikes that never get ridden. They sit in the garage, so no pollution there, and I willing to put money on it that all my cars combined won't put out as much pollution as 1 car without cats.

not just that, look at all the mass produced sports cars like mustangs, vettes, camaros, gto's that are being run with no cats. i would need a calculator to count how many of those guys have taken out the cats on their cars while i can probably count the number of b6/7 s4's with no cats on two hands.
