Well about a week ago I made the switch from my 330ci to this 01 b5 S4

    First reactions:
WOW this thing screams and I cant wait tell I get to test this thing in the snow

    About the car :
silver exterior (anyone know the Audi color name for it)
black interior (I wish it was the two tone but it will do)
    6 speed manual
    came with tint
    110k

Mods/work done.. so far and near future... :
    itg intake (installed)
Bosch DV's (got from echtuning...I think the OEM tt ones, installed)
new right CV boot (installed yesterday)
    installed my amp/sub
APR bi-pipe (sitting in garage waiting to be installed)

    Need to do:
120k service, timing belt kit (including water pump, and maybe thermostat), check for boost leaks

    Questions for everyone:

What else is do I need to do around this mileage to ensure this is as reliable as it can be?

When I chip... is APR a good route and how is it for reliability and causing negative effects?

What else do I need before I chip?

    Thanks!

pics are kinda lame for now... have been too busy for good photo shoot but will come after a few more mods...

Welcome to the wonderfull world of owning a B5 S4 money pit...J/K, some are money pits while others go on for ever.

Couple other things to think about before you chip, O2 sensors, spark plugs, fuel filter, (general tune up stuff..) Also, chipping has been know to cause the turbos to go south quicker, but it's really on how you drive the car. Always let it warm up and cool down before you shut off. And use good qualitly oil...

    Good luck and have fun!!

Welcome. For 120K, I would do
    Cabin Air Filter
    Clean you itg
    Oil Change
    Spark Plugs
    Fuel Filter
Timing Belt, Accessory Drive Belt, Idler Roller, Tensioner Roller, Hydraulic Tensioner, Relay Lever For Hydraulic Tensioner, Water Pump, Thermostat & O-Ring, and G12 Coolant
    Rear Differential Fluid
    Transmission Fluid
    and check for oil leaks.

Congrats on the new purchase. I myself just came over from BMW after selling my M3. I purchased a 02 S4 just 2 weeks ago and I'm loving it as well.

Welcome. Also check for any torn rubber components; outer tie rod ends, upper control arms, torn TBB(throttle body boot), leaking engine mounts, leaking aux water pump, rear diff seals leaking, propshaft leaking at end of tranny, etc etc.

B5 S4's are great cars but they do have some areas that need maintenance at certain mileage.

Of course we'd recommend GIAC software over APR, along with Forge 007P DV's which have an aluminum piston vs rubber diaphragm like the stock/TT225 710N DV's.

LMK if you have any questions.
