AWE vent installed, WHAT A SHOCKERRR

First off i love the awe gauge, although i didnt get enough red wire to hook up the light, i will be making a trip to radio shack tommrow. I was also amazed how on a revo stage 2 file set from tuner, i am spiking 25lbs and holding 20 ish then drop down to 15 on a stock k03.

i will put up a better video when my back light is hooked up tommrow.

negative boost is vacuum. When you turbo is not spooling it reads in Hg not Ibs or bar. A natural aspirated car for example is in vacuum always.

Re: AWE vent installed, WHAT A SHOCKERRR

will you get alot of boost just by reving? or does it not fully go up unless you are in gear and driving (engine is actually working)

Re: AWE vent installed, WHAT A SHOCKERRR

now that im thinking about it there has to be something wrong with the boost gauge or install. There is no way a stock K03 (tiny turbo) is spiking 25psi and holding 20psi. It just isn't possible. I don't know exactly what could be wrong but a K04 has a hard time holding 23psi.

In a manual you can barely build 5psi on a 6k launch. Lower launches can barely break 1-2psi. In a Automatic by power braking you can build 19psi of boost b/c the car thinks its moving while in gear. Usually the car doesn't make any boost unless its under load.

Re: AWE vent installed, WHAT A SHOCKERRR

25psi is fantastic if it's under right running conditions! (AFR, EGT, etc.) I say this because something may be wrong, but if there isn't, congrats.

I'm pushing spiking AND holding 15 on APR, so I think something's wrong on mine (besides PCV).

good to hear someone else was recording lol hopefully your boost gauge is working right. Have you tried using a VAG COM to compare the boost levels? This might be a great idea.

Re: AWE vent installed, WHAT A SHOCKERRR

Wow you guys are hitting 25 lbs of boost?! That's nuts. I have Giac and I spike at 20 and hold at like 18. Maybe I should switch to REVO.

Re: AWE vent installed, WHAT A SHOCKERRR

just a shot in the dark here, but if you are able to get comparable games w/ hp/tq on less boost, wouldn't you rather? even though you get less boost on the apr chip, it would be safer on your ride w/ less i would assume. just a thought. anyone have info to clear it up?
