hey guys i want to take the front bumper off so i can at least paint my rings black. i want to do it once also for practice for when i black out the headlights. Do i have to take the wheels off and jack it up? why cant i just turn the wheels to the left for removing the right wheel well screws and turn the wheels to the right to remove the left side?

let us know how it goes... i feel like i should do this for practice as well, and while i'm at it i could change out my fog lights. have you guys found any other way to change the fog lights without having to take off the entire bumper?

Now, do you mean just the lightbulbs? Cause then you DEF. do NOT have to take the bumper off for that. 10 minutes of work... literally. You won't even break a sweat.

Re: have to remove wheels for bumper?

im kind of pissed. i got it all done today and painted the rings while i was at it. when i put the bumper back on, it wasnt tight with the hood/lights/fenders. everything i took off went back on nice and snug. im going in for my last warrantied service in 500 miles i might say wtf to them. hopefully i can get to the black out lights later this week and ill see if i can fix it then

Re: have to remove wheels for bumper?

no I think you have to have the bumper off to adjust them. Its a stupid configuration. I think someone mentioned on here that audi charges like 100 to realign or something.

I didn't touch those two screws when doing the CC mod and now the front end looks a bit off.

Re: have to remove wheels for bumper?

So what did your friend do? Make tiny adjustments to those two screws and put the bumper back on to see if it looks any better? I wish you could adjust it with the bumper on so that you could see what the bumper was doing.
