need help!!! engine speed sensor!!!

hey guys, my car is dead and wont start. 2000 s4 tip. i need help on finding the engine speed sensor location and a part number or location on getting a replacement part. how hard is it to change out?

i googled it, and through multiple sources got "sensor G 28" as a number commonly referred to as the Engine speed sensor.

I'm not sure where it's located on the 2.7t, but maybe someone with access to a Bentley manual could help out.

It's on the drivers side of the transmission, accessible from underneath. It is just above and forward of the half-shaft, connected directly to the trans. You'll need a 10mm wrench.

Yup. It's a reference sensor to verify timing.
