i filled up my coolant about 1.5k miles ago and now its low again... the reservoir is not cracked, the only thing is that there's a hose in the back of the reservoir that doesn't connect to anything and is also not leaking anything out of it. anybody know why i'm losing coolant so fast?

check the oil cooler, if you cant see any visible leaks... you def got a problem tho so be carefull about driving it, pull the dipstick and see how the oil looks...

there should be a line on the resivore but its just for the overflow, if you cant find coolant leaking anyweare then it could be mixing with your oil through your oil cooler. or a head gasket, idk man im tryin but lets see if ya cant get some other advice hear... anyone guys ?

    Re: coolant leaking problem

my sensor went off again today reading that it was too low so i filled it up to the line. everything seems to be connected except for that one hose. i don't know why i'm coolant so fast and i'm guessing its because of that hose

    Re: coolant leaking problem

does the hose come off of the back part of the resivore? off of like a small nipple? i know there is something that allows the coolant to leak out if you overfill the resivore, however that is a big looking hose lol try blocking it off and see if you still lose coolant, if so then its going into the engine.. which is a problem you need to fix as soon as you can.

yes it does... i plugged the hole to see if that is where the leak is coming from. anyone with an S4 know where the hose connects to???

There is a glowing fluid you can add to your coolant, mechanics use it. Then with UV light search for the glowing leak.

Your turbos are water and oil cooled....look under the car behind the turbos, look for a pinkish crust on the coolant lines. Or our cars have a secondary water pump that curculates coolant after the car is shut off. It's located under the intake manifold. Also look for pinkisk "crust" there...Common leaks...easy but pricey to fix....
