A4 1.8t 5spd Direct swap

I'm looking around for a used tranny for my
2002 Audi A4 1.8t Quattro 5spd

I wanted to know what years or what models can I get to do a direct swap. I'm always finding b5 tranny's that say will fit AUDI A4 02 M.T.; VIN D (8th digit), 1.8L but my vin is E I believe. So what will work?

The trans code you have is unique to that particular year. Just about any B5 or B6 5 speed can be modified to fit in your application but it takes some work.
