I Love it When A Plan Comes Together

Early Saturday morning and I have a fun car day ahead of me.

Changing my plugs this morning (car is finally cool enough!).

Been tracking USPS and FedEx - I have AWE pedals and a Forge DV scheduled to be delivered this morning, too. I love it when parts show up on the same day!

Of course, to support the installation of all of these things, I had to go buy new tools - torque wrench, Mobil 1 grease, tap and die set, center punch, extension bar, zip ties, and some other stuff I probably should have already owned.

    Ahhhh, Saturday.

Re: I Love it When A Plan Comes Together

plugs are done. First time I've ever had to remove a coilpack - only broke one little clip on one harness. the connector is fine - just the tiny little clip. I saw someone else who threaded a zip tie around the harness and pack after breaking the same clip - I might do that.

Cylinder 3's plug was INSANELY tight. I almost gave up trying to remove it because I didn't want to strip it or something. I gave it one final push and heard a huge CRACK. I though - ok, my wife is in Coral Gables and won't be back until tonight. I'm kinda near the bus line, so if I have to go anywhere I'll be ok... Turns out everything is fine - the threads on the plug were perfect and the new one twisted right in. Torqued everything to 22, and now I see the mailmail down the street - that's the Forge 007...

Re: I Love it When A Plan Comes Together

Might have a slight problem. Just got the Forge 007, and it has a blue spring. The AZ'er I bought it from said he ran it with no problems peaking at 21 psi. I peak at about 19 (APR Stage 1), but the Forge site says the blue spring is for 23-20 psi. From what I've read, that might make it fail to dump properly.

Time to do some searching on AZ and maybe pay a visit to Forge (they're local).

Re: I Love it When A Plan Comes Together

installing pedals is a PITA!!!!!! I got the clutch and accelerator on, but I have to go to home depot to get a better 10-32 tap for the brake since it's metal. My harbor freight tap might as well be made out of plastic. Drilling out the brake pedal isn't bad once you take off the knee bolster. The clutch and accelerator are easy because they're plastic.

Still haven't installed the DV, but I did get the yellow spring.
