    30K and hitting the wall??

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Despite countless bugs, check engine lights on the 337 and a siezed engine on my b6 1.8t (covered under warranty) im still an audi guy. Bought my 06 2.0tqm when I 'grew' out of my 337. With scheduled maintenance with 16k and 1.9% financing I thought I had nothing to lose(not to mention tune-ability and practicality) .

    I expected the b7 to be a bit more refined and improved and at this point im my life I dont have time to have to worry about my car but at 26k she has seen way too much time in the shop. I have had all scheduled maintenance performed at the dealer at the recommended intervals, but 2 check engine lights and a flickering xenon send me back to the dealer. And dont get me started on broken lever on the armrest compartment which is currently being held closed with a rubber band.
    <rant over>
    Is it too much to ask for my audi to not be something I have to worry about(I have enough to deal with a business, mortgage and baby on the way)?

    Its sad that Audi market this car in a way that people are supposed to believe that Audi are in a league above other cars similar to Porsche, BMW and Mercedes yet they still have so many problems!

    I still love them but I could just be stupid.

    I don't think expecting a reasonable level of quality is too much to ask from a brand that represents itself as a premium brand.

    My 06 A4 hasn't had any problems, and I've been really pleased with it, but I think I'd be just as frustrated as the OP if I was in his shoes.

    or mercedes with their rampant electrical issues. shit happens and it sucks when they do... but that doesn't mean other 'premium' cars doesn't have their fare share of problems

    yeah, everything is bound to have its problems... just be happy, like others said, that its nothing more serious that having to hold your armrest with a rubber band!

    Re: 30K and hitting the wall??

    Ive had no problems with my car at 29000 miles disregarding my other post lol no more audizine for me after a night of partying. Many of the japanese cars have problems of their own i have a friend with a 2008 camry and that shit is always in the shop for weird problems with the transmission. cars are complicated and when you get a premium brand with more extras the chances of things breaking is always going to be higher.

    u think the audi has problems? i switched to an e90. worst mistake ever. i had the same problems in my a4. CEL's and my armrest latch broke as well. PCV and a thrust sensor issue. BMW is no different. Cupholder broke, car wouldnt start, tranny making noises. the dealer has to be sick of me by now. a good friend who bought a new c-class has had his car in 5 times already and is trying to contest that its a lemon. if u dont want problems, go buy a civic

    lemon law. My mom's bf went through lemon law to sue GM for selling him a Malibu SS with many glitches, he won and got all his money back (the value of the car when he bought new). And at the time, I believe he still owed like around $10k, so basically he got the value of the car new + 10k i nthe pocket. Lemon law is free until they win your case for you. I believe he had to pay 10% of what he received.

    edit: then he used that money to buy a brand new monte carlo (he's a chevy guy)

    Ugghh. I can attest to this. It's 10 to 20 hour of labor you have to do to one if you want to track it. ON the BMW, my rear subframe has to come out, prepped, new pieces welded in, and back together. PITA and $$$$. Plus you have to reinforce shock towers as they can rip apart too.

    while i dont like being called a bitch... i cant say ive never gotten myself in trouble with the the drunken forum post so i wont hold it against u

    All I gotta say is its a damn good thing the service is covered. At the 25k service there was not an issue(atleast no fault codes). 3k later:

    failed camshaft sensor
    failed crank shaft sensor
    4 burnt coils and carbon build up(prob inn part due to me having to wait 3 weeks to get a service loaner)
    siezed cooling pump
    got new water pump, timing belt and associated bits
    xenon bulb and install($515 out of my pocket)

    My first thought is what kind of shape would my car be in if I didnt do maintenance and baby the car. Either way I dont think there is anything left to go wrong! Only thing I have yet to do is find out when my time runs out for Audi footing the bill for service(Anyone know where I can get that info?).

    I would just ask the dealer, they can look up the VIN and figure all that good stuff out! But its 50k or 4 years whichever comes first.

    Our 2007 BMW has had a broken cupholder, the "convenience access" RFID key thing never works right, the reverse tilt mirror stopped working, and the transmission bangs sometimes when stopped. German cars just aren't the most reliable, but they're the most fun to drive Oh and did I mention that iDrive is the worst invention ever???

    I just crossed 76,000 miles.

    I've been lowered, flashed and modded for over 50,000 miles - no serious problems that I can't fix myself.

    Im quite jealous of both the lack of problems and the mods. I do miss the added fun of my 1.8t(apr 93 among other mods). I was planning to do similar mods with the 2.0t. But if I cant get the stock engine to operate smoothly...

    <updated rant>
    Check engine light popped back up, will be dropping the car off at the dealer again mon. I guess I was wrong when I said I was running out of issues this car can have.
