Picked up a few parts for my rebuild

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Picked up a Clutchmasters FX600 with the 14 lb billet steel flywheel from Greg@DTH. The whole assembly weighs just 23 lbs. I took a few quick pics before dropping it off at the machine shop to have it balanced with the rest of the rotating assembly. If everything works out as planned I should be back on the road in about 2 weeks with a few more upgrades.

I also picked up an R32 throttle body from Issam. I couldn't believe how much bigger it is than stock when I took it out of the box.

The aluminum flywheel was only 8 lbs and I wasn't sure how much it would affect driveability. I figured the steel flywheel would be a safer bet.

Any word on your tune and when you're getting your car back?

John, ironically, I just sent you a PM about that before even reading this post.

Very nice Greg. If I need a new clutch that is the one I want. We'll wait until I see how mine reacts to the new engine/tune.

The part number is 03H133062 which comes up as a 2007 Touareg throttle body. It is a 3" throttle body though so it's the same size.

I'm having a custom intake manifold made by a local shop.

Once John gets his up and running, hopefully he will be very happy...

If not I may have 9 flywheels hanging from our Christmas tree as Tracee's present this year

    Haha.

Well, I'm fairly sure Jordan is in for one of those set-ups. I think both John and I told him they are available and to give you a call.

They can be built to hold any where from 550 - 900 ft/lbs of torque. I'd have to check on the exact number for my setup.

Yes, the flywheel is designed for the twin plate setup to work on the A4 1.8t. So the over all thickness is nearly exactly the same as a standard clutch setup.
