Looks fine. Maybe add a small spacer, although I can't really tell from these angles.

Very nice, I have been looking for a pair of S4 wheels recently. The only color they look better on is black

I dunno, when i first saw your car a while ago, i wasnt really amazed, now, i think it is one of the best (if not) combo of usp front/s4 rear you can have... And these rims dont make your car look worse btw, it looks differently and i like it.

Fronts good, rear needs a 10mm. Wasn't planning on buying tires for these right now and NOT selling the HRE's so Im flat broke at the moment. After I get the wheel back and to a new home, Ill work on the look with the S4 wheels some more

You pay alot of money to get wheels that crack! HRE has been good wheels for you. First you get one that leaks and now this.

That is just wrong... their forging process must be very weak. A BBS Gold-Dye forged wheel would bend into a pretzel before it ever cracked like that. Sorry to hear about that Shawn, the S4 wheels look awesome though!!

Sadly, yours aren't the first HRE wheels that haven't held up. HRE needs to either cut their prices in half or start using a better forging process. I would take a set of DPE or Kinesis wheels over HRE any day of the week.

And the worst part of it is that winter weather conditions aren't even a factor since you're in FL.

Yea don't know and really don't care, this was the icing on the cake and definitely not what I wanted or needed to deal with this morning. Once they come back, selling them and moving on!!

HRE wheels with a crack on the inner barrel... I can't say that's rare, from what I've seen in the classifieds on various car forums.

    S4s look real good though

I always have thought HREs are overrated. Not a whole lot of people have them so you dont see all the failures but there are definitely a fair share of them.

I guess thats what you get for a 20.2lb 19x8.5 3pc wheel ... still sucks and yes I agree it shouldnt be that way. I can honestly say thought I dont think of HRE any less because of it, they are still badass wheels with very unique and distinctive looks

    Re: S4 1.8T ...

And I always thought they were overrated too, they were a pleasure to deal with though working with my specific specs I wanted for fitment over the brakes and stance, which IForged and DPE were not. I do not regret buying them and I still think they are a killer, baller ass wheel! Once you own them, your thoughts about them changes!!!!

My rear Maya STM which is 19x9.5 3 piece forged wheel with a Falken FK 452 tire 245/35/19 weighed 50 or 51lbs I forget and the tire is 27.3lbs so mine are only 22.7 or 23.7lbs not much of a difference and that is with 1" wider wheel so my front wheels which is 19x8.5 is probably the same as yours.

And I slammed a hole with one of my front wheels and put a nice bend on the inside where it is like flat instead of round but no cracks occured. I would have never known if I didnt just put new tires on recently, the car felt perfect still.

My 19x9.5 is 20.8lbs, still saving over 2lbs if thats the true, you put it on a scale yourself weight (which I doubt you did)

Yes I put it on a scale before I put it on my car. It weighed the same thing as my stock sport 17 wheel with whatever the stock tire is weighed.

I actually like the S4 wheels on your car better than the HREs. Guess because they are lighter in color. REALLY looks good with that front end and stance.

HREs are kinda like Louis Vuitton...premium cost, but they accomplish the same thing as lesser priced merchandise.

Could have been a defect in the material that somehow missed Sonic or other forms of NDT (non-destructive testing) inspection. Just took some mileage to manifest itself to the surface. Just a thought based on all the inspections I am aware of for large forgings (like a billet wheel).

Doesn't mean you shouldn't buy or use them.

HRE will take care of you.

i like the contrast with the wheels a lot. i never really liked those wheels, but they look right at home on your car.

i have a new respect for those now.

It's amazing how a set of wheels completely changes the way a car looks. I think the blackout effect on this GTI's stock wheels would look awesome on your S4 wheels...
