A lot of twin disc's do that. The roommate's Vette had one for awhile, it drove him nuts.

There are some people on this forum that think that steel flywheel is exclusive to them.....

OP is talking about a GTI, CM did NOT offer a twin plate billet steel flywheel for the A4 till Greg asked them to do it.

Might want to check your facts first. If you go on the CM web site they do not list a billet flywheel for the Audi A4 1.8t when it comes to the FX600/700. Believe me I know because I AM a Clutch Masters dealer.

I hope the fx600 doesn't sound like that, I have my heart set on that clutch.

Re: Twin disk clutch noise, video

mine isn't bad at idle, it chatters a little bit but it's not much worse than my old LWFW setup. however once you press the clutch pedal in, it is very noisy.

actually the compatibility matrix on their site had it listed as an option all the way back from February when the clutch was first announced.

Sounds about normal for every twin or triple disk i've heard. They rattle, but not hearing a CRUNCH or SLIIIIIIIIIP when you let out of the clutch is worth it.

The SEM manifolds are available now- we've got lots of them in stock. We're doing free shipping on them and I'm considering throwing in an install kit of sorts if you guys have any requests.

They want to falsely imply exclusivity which is just plain wrong.

Wrong. What you read was "*Steel flywheels are available on select applications, call for price". That is on the FX600/700 product page of Clutch Masters site which just talks about that product for "all" makes and models, they say that a steel flywheel might be available. But was never an option for the Audi A4 1.8t. Even if you look up their standard clutch kits they only offer a aluminum flywheel.

    audi A4 1.8t (1997-2005) FX600/700 page

If you can please point out the steel flywheel wheel option on that page?

Why do you think Greg had to have them make 10 steel flywheels? They hadn't ever made a steel flywheel for the A4 1.8t and wasn't going to make one unless it was a production run.

Would you like to call the machinest or our Clutch Masters rep?

Picture of that steel flywheel for the A4 1.8t
