That picture of the B7 with the Racetec FMIC is my car. I personally love the Racetec front mount. I had 1 on my B6 and now my B7 and living in Cali it held up really good during the hot ass summer. I have had the FMIC for over 2 years now and it still works like its brand new. We haven't logged the car yet but I can more than likely guess the AWE and Racetec will keep the temps the same, just because its bigger doesn't always means it is better. (NO HOMO)

I know it says no cutting of the bumper, does that also mean the impact beam is retained?

That is correct. No cutting period. Impact beam stays intact. Definitely wouldnt be too safe to be modifying something that protects you in an accident.
