Chip 3.0??

Im thinking about chipping my 3.0 ive heard it only gives you few hp. but if i plan to go all out on the car such as supercharge is it worth it? if yes, does it effect the warrenty on the car? and which chips would you recommend. i saw a GIAC in the classified it was a flashloader is that what i need? any help will be highly appriciated.

The chip will give you about 15 HP with a exhaust. If you are going to supercharge your car then dont waste you money. They will use a different program/software to run the car. Then the chip would be useless. Dont waste your money like i did. I did like the power the chip gave me. Its not noticable like a supercharger though.

Yes a supercharger will void your warranty. there have been problems with people blowing up their engines with those superchargers too.

You need to go to a giac dealer and get it programmed. the flashloader will only let you change between different programs (93 oct, valet, etc.) as far as i know.

correct, the flashloader allows the user to switch between the programs installed in the ecu [stock, valet, 'chipped', kill, etc]. there isn't much audi leaves on the table with the n/a motors, so the gains are small compared to a turbo car. still, a relatively affordable upgrade. GIAC is excellent.

It 300 bucks for a tune, i say do it and have fun until you can get a supercharger. I understand that is better to build the bottom before SC...

Supercharger+100

You will notice a big difference with the supercharger, you will just feel better throttle response with a chip for the most part. N/A chips aren't worth the money. And do some research about the reliability of the PES system, it depends on how beat up your motor is already, and how you drive it.
