Never heard of this before, is the B7 console different than the b6? Whats the purpose?

Re: Anyone know how to remove center console?

This thing was such a pain in the ass to remove. Ok, I'm going to try and describe where all the screws are for you:
In the footwell on either side covered by little plastic covers
I think there are only two behind the radio
I think there are four or six under the shifter/ashtray. If it's six, two point towards the outside of the car, two point down, and two point towards the back of the car.
Take out the back ash tray and pop out the plastic piece underneath it and there are two or three bolts you need to remove (more once you need to get the ebrake out, which is a pain in the ass, and I'm not sure how you're going to replace it because I'm currently without an ebrake lol).
    Unplug the cigarette lighter cord.
Then just wiggle and slide backwards. It's a pain. You have to remove the trim piece on top of the ESP button and what not.
And I THINK that's it. If you have any trouble I can look again. Hope it helps.

The trim around the shifter (aluminum) does it just pry off. And the E-brake hows the handle come off? i have the rs4 shifter and e brake handle so i bet that will suck just as bad as the stock one. Thanks for your help.

Cool project! You should definitely take pictures all along the way! I pulled the dash on my old 3000GT VR-4. You should look at the pics I have in my link below to show you how raw the car can be when the dash is off! Kind of crazy!
