Thought's on this exhaust mod....

I'm working on a new rear bumper cover, and thought it might look cool/different if I could incorporate these exhuast cut-out's from a Lexus LS 460 into my new bumper as my exhaust extensions. I'm not sure how easy or difficult it would be to get them to fit properly but I just thought it might look kind of cool. What's your thought's/concerns???

mind u those are not tips those are just bumper trim pieces if u look throuh it u'll see a small exhaust pipe with the sides open to the ambient air.

Your right, the muffler tips don't actually touch them. They just barely sit inside the opening of the "exhaust trim". They are made of metal and not plastic and act more of a type of exhaust vent. It's just an alternative style to a standard chrome tip. I've seen these up close becuase we have one of these new LS 460's in our shop.

^why p-chop? there's already a body kit out there that does this. (it was in a thread that i read yesterday, i think it may have been the favorite B6 thread) it's some crazy name, and a european kit.

looked pretty decent, just a little too out there for me.

I actually like the 2nd Pchop. But the tips would have to be painted dark, but not as black as the center. Do it, Brian!

I think the 2nd pchop looks pretty good. The tips need to be a bit larger to counteract the size and fatness of the bumper though.

Thanks for the p-shop!! My car is silver so that's pretty much how it would look. I must say that I'm not in love with them now that I see them on there, although the second pshop with the black in between isn't bad. I didn't even think about doing that. Not to mention it would cost me $150 to get those tips/vents. Your right though Nick, they would look better in a darker grey.

I thot about doing this when i first got my audi but decided to go with the ABT rear and quad exhaust instead.

For anyone who's interested: I have a set of the Lexus LS tail pipes.

If rectangular tips looked good on audis, they would have done it already. You will lose all 'audi' look if you do that.
