It's been swell, I think this is goodbye.. Or.

3wks ago, my car hit the curve. I was trying to avoid a direct impact from another car that failed to make a full stop at a stop sign. Like the sign "STOP" was not posted in front of her.

AAA wants to pay 31K for a total damage, because the cost of repair is already at 18k+. I have to take all the after market parts. My coilover, big turbo upgrade, upgraded pump and injectors....etc...

I really love that car, now question.

    1) If an insurance agencies claim loss and willing to compensate for a new/used car, are they obligated to find that person a similar car?

Well from what I understand if the car is totalled, you'll be given a check for what the insurance company thinks your car was worth at the time of the accident. This does not include mods, to the engine or exterior.

Maybe it depends on the insurance company but that's what usually happens.

I am in denial right now, I still can't believe what happened. The car had a few weeks to go from completion in terms of mechanical upgrades that I have done to it, and I did not even enjoy it.

I know that the mods not considered it is my obligation however to remove them and pay out of my own pocket. I am freak'n in La, la, land right now.

I have been looking at the 135i, but the rings looks so much better.

sorry to hear Antonio. that sux.
i say you get a new A4, the dealers are really dropping their pants as the year gets older. Sell your mods and use that cash to tighten up the new whip. close that chapter and move on. Nothing deletes the smell of an unfortunate situation like a new car smell. :)

I'm sure you will have no probs selling your mods.

it's common, kind of to owe more then what you get from the insurance... most dealers include gap coverage for these instances
