What's the deal with replica wheels?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So... I am a noob. I just started to upgrade my Audi and am doing some research. TooLow2.0t inspired me to get BBS LM rims (hot as hell)...but i just found out how expensive they really are.

I was wondering how reliable replica rims can be and if anybody knows a good place to get them from.

Re: What's the deal with replica wheels?

alot of people rock reps. they are usually A LOT cheaper which is why some many people have them. LM's are really sick wheels but i don't know of anyone currently making reps for them!

Re: What's the deal with replica wheels?

the thing wid VMR does not make BBS LM reps. they currently do not make the LM replicas that look identical to the real ones because the company BB5 got sued from BBS for taking their design so now there is another company that makes them but they do not look as good as the BB5 did. but im sure there r plenty of people selling reps around here u just need to look around

There is a company called BB5 that makes LM Reps but they are/werr being sued for copyright infringement by BBS. I would guess BBS one due to BB5's intentional copy of their brand on the center cap, etc.

Just a personal opinion. But its your car so do what makes you happy. What you can try is take a side profile pic of your car, post it and someone who's photoshop savy on these forums can show you what itd look like on your ride.

Re: What's the deal with replica wheels?

thanks! To be honest, I am trying to stay away from the replicas. I thought that wheel was possibly their own design. If I had it my way it would be Rennworx or BBS LM. I don't trust poorly engineered wheels for obvious reasons. I will get a side shot asap and find a thread with a photoshop wiz.

I would go with Hartmann. Make a lot of audi wheels though, personally feel like they are better quality than VMR.

If you think about it, BBS makes a lot of rims for BMW's. Many of the VMR style rims are similar, if not identical to BMW rims. Just saying...

just out of curiosity what is it that makes you FEEL like they are better quality? VMR's rims fit and look better than Hartmann's... IMO... the RS4 reps simply have a more aggressive look with VMR than Hartmann's. To his own... but if you find a design VMR has... you probably should go with VMR...

also search for alloys-r-us they have some amazing prices for replica rims... just know what you are buying

I've seen some dudes rocking Mercedes wheels that look pretty good. I don't see what the big opposition is there.

I don't know much about them, but this company also offers replica wheels at a decent price. raderwerks

Re: What's the deal with replica wheels?

haha there isn't too much opposition. That was really a joke. I love benz and BMW. I am just extremely picky about wheels. For instance, the VMR v710 (i believe?) would look great on an Audi, but i envision it on the BMW because of the CSL BMW m3. Thank you guys for helpin me out with the tips of where to find some wheels... though the mixed review about miro wheels has me confused

I live in PA where potholes breed like rabits, so i need a quality rim that doesn't bend. I usually dodge potholes, but every now and then theres one that creeps up on me

I've read some good things about this replica deal as well. Lakshore Wheel and Tire He also has mercedes reps and one called Miro? So is Miro a company that makes wheels for Mercedes or do they just knock of Mercedes wheels?

I live just south of Pittsburgh. probably willing to spend around 2 grand for new ones.
Maybe around 1,500 to 1,800 for used (maybe a little more depending on how much i like them).

19X8.5 inch wheels with a offset of either 35 or 32.

Do you have a set of some nice mesh rims you would like to sell?

Since a few people are talking about V708's vs. other rs4 reps. Heres a comparison. No one comes close to our wheel design + concavity.

We also have our new V710's which also look great. Our wheels are designed by and produced only for us by our manufacturer, who also makes wheels for several large name Japanese brands as well as OEM manufacturers. I don't think any other competitor can say the same.
