    how long has audi been producing this motor? and from what ive heard these 4.2 a6 2001ish, are pretty bullit proof... are they that much better than a 2.8 (gas price wise, is it worth it getting a 4.2 compared to a 2.8) and generally how expensive are the parts for the a6 with the 4.2liter?? thanks guys

    Well gas wise the 2.8 is a V6 so it will use up less gas depending on how you drive...thats a pretty good price for the mileage of the car, I guess if you havent searched yet type in something see what comes up. I hope other people will chime in with more useful info.

    2.7t can be modded to be best performance, 2.8 is weak, 4.2 arguably less maintenance as engine than 2.7 and far superior to 2.8
    Nothing going to bring it back: 2000 C5 2.7T 6sp MT

    RS4 Clutch, JHM DT-Stabilizer, VAST Short-Shifter,

    ok thanks for the input guys.. pretty much want more room and my knee is startin to bother me so its time to get rid of the stick... after the hell of a time i had learnin to shift in this damn thing haha (a4 3.0) and it all goes for nothin!!
