No hidden EQ on Symphony II+ ???

Is there no hidden EQ on the new Symphony Radio? I've been reading posts where people say adjusting the hidden EQ on the Symphony can make a huge difference, but it doesn't seem to work on the II+. I've tried all kinds of button combinations and nothing. This thing has so much god damned midrange its awful. I even have mid turned down all the way on the standard EQ and its still overpowering. Kinda makes me wonder about the people that upgrade to the II+ and say the SQ is better than the old II. I'm planning on an aftermarket double-din navi unit at some point, but probably not for a little while yet.

Im wondering the same thing. Mids and highs seem to shred my ears. I have both of them set very close to the bottom. Ive tried all combos too and cant seem to find anything. Im sure there is something.

Maybe super midrange is a feature of the Ti package . Do you also notice that FM sounds like poo in general? Even if i have perfect reception the sound is distorted. It basically sounds like the volume is way too high even if its quiet. Do you have Bose? I wonder if any of this has to do with the AudioPilot gizmo.

Yes, I have Bose. With Sat and CD inputs Mids and Treb are almost all the way down. FM though I leave them closer to flat, but yes....It sounds like crap. I have to boost bass up to about 80% on every input though or the piercing upper end is all you hear.

Re: No hidden EQ on Symphony II+ ???

Ok actually i kinda fixed it for now....i just turned the fader up to the front about halfway and that got rid of ALOT of midrange. The rear speakers are actually all midrange, which is completely backwards. As far as i'm concerned the front speakers should be the majority of the mids and highs, and the rear should be the bass and some fullrange fill for the rear passengers....but if you put your fader completely to the rear, all you will hear is midrange. It sounds pretty sad actually. The front speakers sound much better. I'm not sure if its actually the speakers though, or a product of the headunit or even the EQ going on in the Bose amp. Hopefully its the headunit and we can find that hidden EQ. The hidden EQ on the old symphony II had separate values for front and rear.

Funny, I spent about 1 hour earlier today messing with this stuff as well. It amazing, but the front speakers actually have more bass output than the rear sub. If you do fade to the back, you can hear how sad the sub really is. It misses so many notes.
