so i went with some 18 inch hyper silver rs4 reps from vmr. tires are goodyear eagle f1 all seasons. i wanted to lighten it up alittle with the color, BUT i still have the titanium wheels and i am keeping them and switching back and forth. ive only had these on for about an hour or so and im not sure how i feel about them.

-also, color-matching the front and rear bumper lenses but can't seem to get the rear ones out. any help?

    some pics:

Your right Mofsteel another overplayed display of RS4 reps from a guy out in California on a Audi enthusiasts forum with thousands upon thousands of people all over the world posting pics of their cars. Your right though you might see a bit more of them though because Audi agrees with most people that these are by far one of the best looking wheels for an Audi of any model and our making them available on all models for 08. I myself prefer a stock look. Where just lucky that Audi has a great stock wheel choice that looks as great as these do. So if you had the opportunity to have a RS4 would you change the wheels to BBS because you hate them so much or would you rock em out?

Looking at them again its not the wheel that looks bad its the hyper silver on your car. It seems to throw the theme of. Onyx would have been bad!!! But they still look good.

Personally I think their are many wheels that look better. Audi is simply doing what every car manufacturer does. They come out with a wheel style and use it throughout their lineup.

The wheels the OP has are not OEM wheels, they're replicas. They're not only cheap in price but also in quality.

I prefer a stock look also and I have achieved that look with subtle mods.
If I had the stock Rs4's id use them for winter wheels just like I use the stock wheels that came on my car.

How so in quality? If they are so played out and everyone has them why haven't we heard tons of tales of the bad quality of these wheels. I grant you the fact that they come at a great price, but I have had mine for quite some time and you know the roads by which we live and I have not ran into any quality issues at all. What is your source? Maybe one thread on a quality issue. That could be one bad batch or they hit a pot hole the size of the grand canyon? I just think since EVERYONE has these wheels we would hear more. Since you have never owned them how do you know the quality? I am not trying to be a dick here, I just want to know how you back up your apparent hatred. If you hate the looks, fine. Throwing in cheap, played out, etc etc. Back it up!

Re: some quick pics of the new rims

I think you need 19s or a drop and 18s (or both for perfection). And I don't think the silver goes well with your car because of all the blackout. I would have gotten the gunmetal or onyx black if you really like the VMR reps. If you want a great deal on black rims, check out my for sale thread- they are only a couple hundred more than yours.

Re: some quick pics of the new rims

i like where you've taken the car with the white paint and the blacked out everything else... but i think the rims would have looked better in the onyx or maybe gun-metal than the hyper silver... the silver with the white is to noticable of a color different where as the onyx would have been good cuz it would have gone with the rest of the black mods (grill, mirrors, side markers and reflectors etc....

but thats just my opinion, i still think your car looks good all in all

I could give two shits if they are "played out" or not. That isnt my point.
If you havent seen a post about their quality then you need to search the forums. Cracking and peeling is very common.
My source is many posts and personally seeing 3 different sets in person.
Cheap is a FACT, believe it or not. Not once have I used the phrase "played out."
If you want to promote them because you think theyre the best wheel for the price then go ahead. No one is stopping you. I will continue to post my opinion on any topic I please.

I ran across this post on the forum and I feel it perfectly describes a lot of people here.

Re: some quick pics of the new rims

Well before my post I did check the search engine and came up with a power coating issue in one thread, which i mentioned before, so thanks for the idea. If you have "PERSONALLY" seen three sets that would be a valiant back up. I'm not going to have a pissing contest with you over that one but I find it unlikely. You also have the right to express yourself as well, I was just curious about the blatant issue that you had with them. As far for the the thread you found about forums which I saw earlier today as well, I think you just explained yourself in the views of many on this forum( oh yeah and we can back that up with using the search engine as well.) so once again, thank you.

Re: some quick pics of the new rims

Just to give VMR some credit here, they have "redesigned" the finish so the peeling issues are very much improved but in the past I have heard multiple issues with their finish. Regardless, I can take MOFSTEEL's opinion and value it because he wants some quality stuff- high quality stuff. But to others who want a nice, OEM+ look to their Audi the VMR design is a good package for the price (which is all relative so don't fret here)

Now lets help the OP figure out his wheel sitch lol

i appreciate the opinion on the drop guys...its not that bad in person though. i agree with you that slammed would look a hell of alot better but its low enough for my taste considering the roads in new york

-i'm a big fan of the rs4 rims which is why i got the reps in the first place. to me, the hypersilver gives the car a nice contrast. i'm rocking these till the spring then putting the titaniums back on. and then maybe ill possibly powdercoat them gunmetal finish or just trade wheels with someone on the forum.

Haha i'll trade you my 19" MRR GT-1's for those. They look great on that car though, very OEM like because it has no drop to it. Nothing wrong with that.

I represent a huge powder coating facility in SFLorida.
If you ever need anything, let me know. We charge $85-$100 per wheel in any standard color.
Also, your wheels look good. ITs a clean look and I like 18's....BUT you definitely should think about spending $200 on some springs. I have seen H&R race springs installed on OEM shocks and the car looks amazing with NO harshness. PLUS, it reduces the front end from lifting when accelerating and the rear end lifting from braking!!! Thats huge in itself. Dont worry about your lease. Turn your car back in with the lowered springs, the dealer does not care, TRUST ME. Think about the cost over 1-5 years, ITS WORTH IT!

Re: some quick pics of the new rims

Minor cracking is not a big deal for reps... I mean, you can get a brand new set of 19" reps for $800-900, so you can only expect so much.

As for whitevdub, I LOVE your car, I like the rs4 reps, but I do think it looks weird right now. I would like it lowered a tad, but it might be that you blacked everything out and went with a standard silver finish. I have an idea though... If the finish on these reps is iffy, why not get the best of both worlds and get them powdercoated? You'll have an awesome finish and get a cool look if you do them darker.

I probably wouldn't do to crazy of a finish though since it would hurt your resale value. Like a white/black combo would look absolutely sick, but then only people with white cars would want to buy them so your options are very limited to sell later on.
    Ignorance is bliss.

I liked the black Ti rims on it better, but those don't look too bad. They just don't flow with the "theme" of the rest of the car.

Hey Matt, I thought you were looking into some BBS CHs? I think those would've flowed better with the theme of your ride.

They look good, but I think they'd be better if they were darker than Silver.

Re: some quick pics of the new rims

IMHO, the car was on good track starting to look very nice until....Oh yeah...
Until you put on these wheels...

other than overplayed again and again...and again, they dont match your car AT ALL...
They should at least be in black...
The only thing they match with, is your headlight colour which should also change...

So, as far as I know, a black rim, such as UltraLeggera, VMR, BBS CH, something, lower it, and paint your headlights Black...

    THEN, you will rock :)
