NEED ALTERNATIVE TO STEALERSHIP 50k SERVICE

Audi wants $850+ for a tune up b/c they change the spark plugs. Well, with the idiotic way they handled just making a duplicate key for me, I have little faith in Oakland Audi. Anyways, I know you guys have mentioned some really good and well priced mechanics around (Frankie or Freddie???), but I don't know if they do the basic 50k-55k tune up. I rather give my hard earned cash to a supporter of AZ and someone who gives a shit about my car, then some fuck who started my car then asked with a straight face if it was a 1.8L. (B6S4?) tard.

Yeah, Freddie at East Country European Autoworks. 550 Harvest Park Drive, Brentwood, CA 94516. Tel: 925-516-2834. He was a master audi tech at Livermore before opening up his own shop. Worked on my bro's B6 S4 as well as my 1991 CQ. Knows his stuff. Only downside is that it is a bit of drive to get to Brentwood. Freddie's been doing all my services ever since the Avant has been in the Bay area... at Livermore Audi while he was working there and the Avant was still under warranty and at his shop since he opened up... i was actually there last Saturday getting a service done: oil change, oil filter change, change coolant tank from grey to clear plastic, top of fluids...

call the shop and get an appointment scheduled... Freddie works at the Concord Audi dealership during the week and at his shop after-hours and weekend...

nOOOOOOOObody else is gonna touch the Avant but Freddie...

Didn't know that the expansion tanks came in clear? Did you mean white? BTW, hold on to your tank, there's interest in them. I sold my grey to offset the cost of the white.

To OP, Freddie will take good care of you. He handled my 80k, timing belt, and K04 install all in one swoop.

If you are looking somewhere closer to your neighborhood, we (034Motorsport) are located about 20 min drive south of Oakland off 880 and we're fully capable of handling regular scheduled maintenance, as well as upgrades. Ok. So i took the advice and made the trek to Brentwood to visit East County Euro Autoworks. I couldn't have been more pleased or impressed. They were there on time and didn't waste a moment getting started. Freddie and the guys inspected my car as if it was theirs and were very candid with their opinions and overview of my car. I was coming in for the 55k service, even though I'm not quite there yet. They had all the supplies ready to go and I felt as though they included me with a step by step of what they were doing...as if I was watching my child during an operation. I learned so much about the condition of my car (which turns out is pretty good) and what to look out for in the near future. I felt as if I should have paid for everything I learned during the service, but from the moment I made the appointment with Freddie, I could sense the passion for what they do.

The other owner, Scott, is friggin awesome too and their chemistry was apparent. They are so informed and just all around good people. Their quote/estimate was right on and there are a few other items (pads/waterpump) which are showing some wear, but can be fixed in the near future. There was no attempt for an up sell and even took preventative measures to make sure the car runs at an optimum.

I could go on and on, but in as long as I have been tuning cars, I have never experienced a shop this professional and solid in every category. If I were to run a shop, this is exactly how I would do it. Heck, they even called me the next day to check in and make sure it was all ok. Well done. They lived up to standards in every aspect mentioned by this forum. My car feels great btw.

Thanks again to ECEA and AZ for coming through one more time for a brother. THey will be working on my car as long as I have it. Bravo.

When did you go in for your service? I was actually at Freddie's shop on Saturday getting my b7 s4 brakes bolted on. Freddie is so awesome and I love the fact that he lets you see his work being performed. Most shops have a "closed door" policy and I really don't like that because I cant trust if they are just trying to clock in more hours or what not. Needless to say, the brakes I got from Nelson (10mpgs4) are working flawlessly and they fit my LM reps with no problems at all. I was very satisfied with the brakes, and Freddies shop and he was spot on with his estimate. And I completely agree with you on the shops professionalism and I made a sworn oath to only take my car to East Country European Autoworks!!! I will be taking my clutch to Freddie in the upcoming months....
