    Re: What to do

Offset has to do with the wheel not the tires. When you buy wheels they specify the bolt patter (5x112 for us), the size (18x8.5"), then the offset (the distance from the hub face to the wheel face, IIRC) Most wheels for our cars come in an offset between 35-45, the lower number being more flush with the wheel, thus pushing the wheel face out. You don't want to push it out to far or you'll run into rubbing issues with your fender. So to make an informed choice on spacers we need to know what offset your wheels are currently.

    Re: What to do

If they are 35, I wouldn't go more than a 5-8 in the rear, bringing it to an offset of 30-28. What kind of wheels do you have, were they bought for your car or where they on a different model before? You may be able to find the offset by checking with the manufacturer to be sure.

Close, but not quite. Offset is the distance that the hub face is offset from the centerline of the rim. So, for an et35 wheel, the hub face is 35mm closer to the outside of the rim than the center. For a negative offset rim, the hub face is further from the outside of the rim than the center line.

    Re: What to do

okay the wheels are specifically made for audi cars. There are august union rims 19-8 . that diagram capt obvious totally confused me. but im almost positive now that there are 35. so would 15mm be about right? and how bout hubcentric or non. Im going to get the spacers from ecs so should i just buy the kit with the bolts for a little or 100 bucks or are there better deals>?
