I mean quality and adjustable throw, also is it bad for your tranmission to have one. Thanks

JHM hands down, absolutely no comparison. I have mine set on 25% reduction with -1" height. Its perfect and no slop

Re: What is the best short throw shifter?

Is there any problems with transmissions as a result of any short throw shifters? I had a mustand a few years back, and there were some issues. I think it was the synchros that were failing due to the shifters, could this happen if the shifter doesnt go into gear all the way?

neuspeed although it doesn't offer adjustability. it took a second try to adjust and get it just right but for $120... it's perfect

Re: What is the best short throw shifter?

i have the neuspeed but would probably get the JHM is if i could do it all over again. the neuspeed feels fine but you do feel a bit of "slop".

Re: What is the best short throw shifter?

I was trying to figure out which ssk was the best earlier this week too. I did alot of searching on the forum and reading. There are a ton of good reviews about the JHM shifter. Not only for the a4 but for the s4 and rs4 as well. Yes, it is a bit pricier, but look at all the options you get to chose from, plus your not just getting the shaft like alot of other kits. You get all of this....JHM Steel shaft, JHM solid pivot assembly, Tig Welded Steel lower link, Delrin Bushings, New pushdown reverse springs (stock, medium and stiff) and all other hardware. Im going JHM hands down.

Re: What is the best short throw shifter?

It reduces the throw length between gears. However the JHM ssk gets rid of the sloppiness thats experienced with the stock shifter.

Re: What is the best short throw shifter?

I like my Stratmosphere SSK, but I got a great price on it, hence why I bought it. I was never unhappy with the stock throw so I probably would have never upgraded, but for what it is, I like it
