Okay so i've had my B6 since january had the joy of replacing three coil packs so far.. (had an mkiv jetta so i'm pretty familiar with that issue) well i've noticed about two months that a few times (and i mean like not even once a week) i'll be accelerating and then it stops accelerating and when i give it gas it does nothing, no revving at all, it's like a dead pedal.. no CEL or anything but then if i let off the pedal then push it again it's all gravy.. hmmm really odd and hard for me to figure out cause it doesn't throw a CEL. any ideas????

mine has had that prob... i've had it for a year and a half and it has happened maybe 4 times total. but mine does it when i turn on the cruise. cruise shuts off, dead pedal, very rough idle, mine gave a code tho.. EPC light came on and gave a code of PCM fault. shut the car off, turned it back on, and it's like nothin happened... have yet to be able to explain it let alone replicate it for a dealer.

Do you have clown feet and slightly touching the brake pedal? It will cut fuel after like 3 seconds.

Re: Vroom vroom then wtf? (acceleration problem)

I had the exact same problem and found out it was a faulty brake sensor. The car would mistakenly think the brake was on and, as a safety precaution, would cut the fuel when I would accelerate. It would happen once a week. I had both sensors replaced at my local shop for about $120 (incl labor) and everything is now perfect.

Also, my brake light was constantly on but I didn't notice it for over a month until a friend was following me.

Hope this helps and good luck!!

that's gotta be it, i had researched about that switch and noticed that sometimes my cruise control won't work (cause the brake switch activated) so it's gotta be that.. THANK YOU!!!!
