Need advice pls. Headlight scratches, possible to buff out?

    Hi!

Based on the pic, do you think the scratches on the headlight lens can be buffed out? I want to buy this housing but if you think the scratch is bad, then I'll pass and wait for a good deal on a pair of xenon housings.

    Thanks in advance.

you could try filling em with clear nail polish and then sanding/super buffing them... i used to fix cd's that way, but it took FOREVER

I've polished my headlights 2 weeks ago...This is a very special job to do. Let me explain:
The clear lense of our headlights is covered by a super hard coating. It may be to prevent sand blasting of the plastic. This hard coating is almost unpolishable because it's too hard. What I did is sand the hard coating until you attain the plastic lense. It's very easy to see the difference between the hard coating and the plastic. ( plastic become white with sanding). I suggest to remove the hard coating with a 400 grit sandind paper and a good pneumatic sander. after sand the plastic with a 600, wet 800, wet 1000, wet 1200, and then polish the plastic with standard rubbing compound. If you do this, you must remove all the hard coating... This is a 1 hour/ headlight if done with right tools and good worker... good luck! expect a more fragile headliht after removing the hard coating...
