    VM 19" V710 19"x9.5" - clear BigBrakeKit?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Does anyone know if the 19x9.5's will clear bbk as well as work with a suspension such as the Stasis MS???
    VM - http://www.velocitymotoring.com/links/wheels_v710.htm

Stasis uses a Champion 19x9.5 that they say fit perfectly and with their suspension kits - but they're designed to fit their big brake kits and have deeper shape for such purpose. I assume it has to do with offset allowing them to tuck inside a bit.

-(the answer from Stasis is "YES", the 9.5's will fit)

I just don't like the design/looks of the Champions.

I'm trying to plan ahead and make sure things are compatible before doing anything.

    Thanks.

I didn't know that VMR made a 9.5" wheel. That's RS territory. i also don't know if you can stuff a 9.5 on an "S" without further modifications.

Yeah, it's also bmw territory where I've been spoiled on the cornering. ;)

Depends on the Offset. Some A4 guys tuck 275s under their wells just by messing with the offset of hte wheel.

There's so much room behind the spokes of these wheels I think I could fit back there. And I'm a big dude. I really don't have any firsthand experience but I bet you could fit any brakes you threw at the car behind those wheels.

The Champion wheels are 19x8.5. Not 9.5.

I think the suspension question will depend on how low you go and the tires you use. As for a BBK, I remembered reading a thread wherein someone posed the BBK question. Here's the link. Short answer, yes, they will fit most BBKs and they were willing to check out a template if you send one in (see post no. 15).

Unfortunately for we don't offer staggered fitments for Audi wheels. The 9.5" fitment is for BMW 5x120.

I'm talking about the 5 paired spoke version, not yours in the photo. Yours look sweet though.

The wheels are stated as 9" in one place and 9.5" in another and use a 255/30x19 tire - that's not an 8.5" rim to say the least.

The 20" version is 9" wide.

I might be putting my wheels up for sale in the near future.

Actually the width of the wheels is not on their site and if you read
more closely it says the Champion wheels are 19" X 8.5".

"Champion Motorsport Wheels are forged monobloc design for strength and light weight. The 19" x 8.5" weighs in at about 19lbs and we have many designs and colors available."

The post is made by Jason whom I believe is the sales manager at Stasis.

I dont think you're making anything up. I just think you were misinformed and im trying to help you out by correcting their wrong. Sorry for being helpful.

    Re: VM 19" V710 19"x9.5" - clear BigBrakeKit?

Seriously, you are assuming there is only one rim available.

There are two places the website states 9" and 9.5" as well as 255x30x19 tires in the Challenge and touring packages as well as in the wheels section.

Additionally, what 8.5" rim here do you think a 255/30 fits properly on? 9-9.5, not 8.5

Anyway, Jason told me on the phone they had the wider rims.

    Website says:

    "S4 19" x 9 "\ Wheel Upgrade
    Part # WH02.0002.00"

    and signature series states 9.5"

There would be no problem with a 255 tire on an 8.5" wheel.
Stock 4th gen TA's and Camaro's came with 16X8" wheels and run a 245 tire stock.
255 is the suggested max tire on an 8" wheel so I dont see it being a problem on an 8.5" wheel.
    Stock Ws6 wheel is a 17" x 8.5" w/ 275/40/17 tire. No stretch.

In fact, here is a guy running a 275 on an 8.5" wheel.
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...64#post2875264

Here is the Challenge Edition where it says 19"
    http://www.stasisengineering.com/Cat...D.aspx?PID=198

and the Touring Edition also says 19"
    http://www.stasisengineering.com/Cat...D.aspx?PID=197
    Nothing about width.

Perhaps Jason was referring to wheels not made by Champion or the 20" versions.

Digging up what "can" go on a rim, especially other brands is useless info when we're talking about "proper" fit on these. just because someone gets the wrong tire onto a rim doesn't mean anything at all.

don't bother digging on the website anymore, if you don't want to know the truth anyway. I'll give you a hint though, think "pdf" and pop up windows.

So, you already have 20's in a nice rim, why change? Your rims may actually be higher quality too. Put the $ into performance!

I know they are higher quality for sure... LMs are forged and even at the size im using are still lighter than the VMRs. I just love the concaveness of these wheels! I dont know Im a sucker for change! For the whole set of the VMRs you could only get one LM 20" wheel

I already know you're crazy because you also have a RR sport ;)

which car is SC? the sport or the b6?

I had an 07 RR SC for a while, I never really liked the sport but that full size was awesome, not as practical though as my lr3 but so sweet to ride in. I only lost $4000 selling it later and I'd bought it new! Sometimes the market works weird.

I don't appreciate your being such an asshole about this. From the Stasis website. "FACTS"? The person who thinks they know it all before even researching is an idiot - what do you call yourself? Where's your "proof"? Is it supposed to be your word on what you think is the gospel? YOU aren't proof and you apparently can't even make a website work to download pdf's and the like.

The 20" version is 9" wide.

I might be putting my wheels up for sale in the near future.
Mine are 19x9 but all of the Audi fitment ones are now 8.5. That is what I was told by champion before Stasis got the deal to sell them.

I'm sure at least a few people would like to know, so, I'll call them and find out exactly what was and what is available and why the website info states 2 sizes, neither of which are 8.5 though....

I'm not sure where the info you got is coming from but the touring cars run smaller wheels.

    here, read this: http://www.world-challenge.com/series.php?page=carfacts

    Pertinent excerpt:
    Wheels
Grand Touring (GT): The wheel diameter used in the GT class is 18". The maximum wheel width is 10", 11", or 12" based on the tire size(s) permitted on each car. The wheel offset is free provided that the approved bodywork covers the portion of the tire that contacts the track.

Touring Car (TC): The wheel diameter used in the TC class is 17". The maximum wheel width is 8". The wheel offset is free provided that the approved bodywork covers the portion of the tire that contacts the track.

And before you think I'm being an asshole, just trying to help.

Also I know of a few people who are running Champion wheels with different offsets and widths but hey are using Porsche wheels with spacers or adapters.

No ill intentions assumed - I welcome real info and honestly want to know the truth - not what someone "thinks".

I got all the info from the Stasis website, as I said. It is in two locations but most specifically listed on the pdf download of the list of parts and specs for the s4 challenge edition. I even talked to the guy, Jason I think, on the phone briefly, stated my car, asked about rim width, and re-asked because I was surprised when he said the rims they provide, are 9" wide or more and still fit in non modded fenders. He said it was due to the offset and backspacing utilizing the max space behind the wheel.

Maybe he was talking about what "could" be done or the challenge version of the kit for the non-racer...?

This is what mine looks like, they are 19x9 et 34 running 245/35 and camber is about 1.1- 1.2. I can tell you that min rubs only on the drivers side. I noticed the rear subframe is about 4-5mm shifted to the drivers side and the dealer said they could not adjust it. If you change the offset the maybe wider rims would work but then you wouldn't clear the BBK. Tradeoffs, that's the game in modding:).

    Good luck

your bottom photo doesn't have the same rims as the top photo.... they look great though.

how do the 9's track on uneven pavement? do they pull much to either side?

It is the same, the Avus you see are from another S4 at our dyno day:) Pics are from the same day.

I have a friend at tire shop who aligns my car and is very good and patient with me. I had very uneven tire wear on my last set and now it's great.

Dude's not making it up. From their website.

    http://www.stasisengineering.com/popup_Wheels.php?id=s4

And if you do download the pdf, it does say 19x9.5". But who knows, maybe their website is wrong.

Now seeing the pics, I know what the difference is. If you called Champion they would not have sold you that wheel, they would have told you it is for the A6 or 8. They are very careful with fitment issues, and don't take chances.

Understood. They should probably update their website and brochures then.

The brochure for anyone curious: http://stasisengineering.com/media/b...es/S4Bound.pdf
