    Carbon Fiber Trim Update (long)

Well, still no word from the infamous Terry Vella! This is no reflection on Winston, because I did not work with him but he gives the jobs to Terry. So, I caution anyone trying to get their trim pieces done to proceed with caution. I just don't like being taken advantage of and lied to and hate for it to happen to anyone else. So, I am putting the dirty laundry out in the open to air out. You decide!

I sent my pieces to Terry and confirmed he received it on Aug 14th. This is 2 weeks after he came out of the hospital ...

Aug 11th "I apologize for lack of communication, I have been in the Hospital for nearly the last two weeks. So let me rerun what I have. You are sending trim, So I will use your origiinals. That way there is no problem with fitment. 2002 Audi A6 4.2L quattro (TIP).
I am out of the hospital, recovered, and ready to be bustin my butt on this.

Aug25th ..I asked for an update and to take whatever time he needed. I want the thing done right and not look like a rush job. I received a response from him (10 days)

"OK. Yeah, still working on it."

I figured that it was time to contact him again for an update and he would not respond. So I posted my frustration on this site then received a response from both Winston and Terry. That when Big Merle informed me the guy is a Vet..yada, yada. In my opinion, vet or not all it takes is a phone call. Not responding and ignoring your clients is not the way to go.

Sept9th... "I apologize. I have been laid up since Wednesday. Back on my feet now. I will be shipping your parts hopefully before the end of this week, or at the latest, Monday. Thank you for your patience, Terry"

sept10th..."...Lastly, I had run out of 6oz Carbon when I layed up your interior trim, so you are getting the upgrade to 12 oz for free. Here's 2 quick pics of YOUR actual dash piece...the only part that is complete as of today. BTW, I am a terrible photographer and really shakey right now due to medication. Hopefully you get the idea though. This is what I want in my car eventually as well. Terry"

Okay, were are getting somewhere...NOT! 27days to finish 1 trim piece! For all I know the picture sent could have been an archived file. Hmmm...If it took him 27 days to do 1 piece what is the probability to complete the other 10 in 3 days???? Beyond reasonable doubt, I sent the balance of the payment to him and asked if the trim pieces would look different since the weight of the fabric is different.

sept13th (saturday)...(30 days later)"OK looks like Monday will be shipping."

Sept17th (Wednesday 34 days later) "OK. I am a moron. I need your address. Normally its on the paypal payments, but for some reason its not included on any of yours. I caught that the dash piece was 6oz on Sunday and am just about finished with it. Rest of the set is done and gorgeous. Tracking number will be EB606935643US. Terry

Hmm...sounds funny to me. Did he not notify me of this and I reminded him about it being different? Maybe I'm not so smart as I think, could any of you get this tracking number to work?? Maybe its a tracking number from Flying Tigers. That tracking number looks more like an international US Postal tracking number. As far as I know I'm still in the United States.

This is now day 42 with my car missing its trim pieces! During this whole process I've emailed and called him on numerous occasions to give me a call and not once has this guy returned any of my calls. Unbelievable! My last resort was to post a message here on Audizine so someone gets in touch with this guy to tell me who he shipped the package with and to give me a valid tracking number.

I am really pissed now and ready for a road trip. No more emails and no more phone calls. The next time he will hear from me will be a knock at his door!

In short, how would you handle this? I'm trying not to make this an ugly situation. I think I've been more than reasonable giving him enough time to handle his business and now its time to take action.

Re: Carbon Fiber Trim Update (long)

Like I said BigMerle, I think Winston has a better chance of getting in touch with this guy than I do. Winston, is totally innocent of this transaction and tried to help me when I tried to have him contact Terry. As Winston, explained to me it puts him in a bind when he takes orders from you guys and get Terry to do the job and problems arise such as these. You don't contact Terry, you contact the guy that took your money. That make business bad for all of us, everybody looses. He is losing out on a lot of potential sales, I've got other pieces to wrap on my convertible, I've got guys wanting his contact information for his services. I'm not putting my rep on line for this type of bullshit!

I am going to the dealership on Friday, to price a full carbon fiber kit and sue for the amount if I do not hear from him within a given time period know to him. This is a secondary alternative to my taking a trip over there.

You know, I eat at a lot of fantastic restaurants but long after I've forgotten what I've eaten what stays with me is the service. When you do good word gets around but when you do bad it gets around even faster. If and when this is resolved, the only way I would do business again is to pay after proof the job is complete with a time stamped photo. In addition to that I will make sure I have duplicate parts that I can sacrifice.

Well, trim pieces are finally here! It was truly worth the wait minus the aggrevation. I am very content. I hope this is now a trend for other guys to receive their orders placed. I got inspired so did a few mods from my that were long awaited. Enjoy the pics

Now only thing left on my exterior is to install my antenna and do the headlight mod. Also, I need to pick up that lower mesh grill.
My interior mod will be to install my carbon fiber instrument cluster, I was running short on time.
    In the near future:

That's a pretty ridiculous turn around time. My friend can do carbon trim and I'm pretty damn positive it wouldn't take months.

If anyone has any interest in carbon wrapped trim that doesn't take months to get back, hit me up with an IM and I can have a chat with my friend about pricing.
