What is the top speed for a stock A4?

Well I am just curious. I am scared to try it out. :( I was just wondering, whats like the top speed on a 2000 Audi A4 1.8t? And how fast you ever went on it.

Got my 2003 1.8t up to 155... Thats all she had

oh yeah... mine is not stock. I think there is a speed regulator that wont let you go above 130. I could be wrong?

Gotcha... I don't know but I heard someone say that a stock B6 tops out at 155 somewhere around there before the speed regulator or whatever it's called kicks in. but i don't know about the B5.

I *think* the B5 tops out around 140.

My stock GLI hit the governor at 128. That was on the gps also. It was still pulling steadily though. Stock for stock, my now 04.5 GLI is quite a bit faster than my 04.5 A4 Avant was when it was stock.

Pretty sure that a stock B5 top speed is 130.....says it in the manual I believe.

With the 150hp engine,quattro, and god forbid if u got an auto don't expect to hit that 130 anytime soon.

I would never go 155 in a stock(chipped)A4, unless it was on a runway..one small bump and good luck handling that car.

It handles very well at 149, I doubt 155 is that much of a problem. My bimmer would run 155 like it was still cruisin.

the 170hp(2001) is governed at 133 mph stock. While stock I reached it at like 6500 rpms and about 10-11 psi. Car was handling poorly past 115 mph. After chipping and putting the exhaust on it i haven't tried to see how fast i can go.

140 mph in my chipped B5 Avant with sport and "Z" rated tires is as fast as I dared go. Suspension is way too soft. 150 mph seems right for max speed in a chipped KO3 B5. Avant's will be a little slower.
